SD will need good arguments...
Three very, very minor patches. A few glitches fixed, VOIP added, a couple of balances fixes out of which the shotgun nerf and the MCP repair the biggest ones, last one was the biggest with turret notifications, voiced tooltips and coloured mines.

That’s it. Then on came the SDK and the game was done. Brink needs much, much more than that before the game is satisfying.
Yet we still have unreliable hit detection, overpowered vehicles complimented with underpowered anti-vehicle weapons, unbalanced weapons, unbalanced maps, no vehicle horn for platypus, poor custom content support, micro stutter, ranked servers and no community forums.

While it’s true things were better than Brink, it was and still is far from perfect.

And still it’s leagues beyond what Brink now is. Would you look at that.

There isn’t a single aspect about Brink that is better than etqw.

What should have been an intelligent, addictive and satisfying game, regressed into something that doesnt even warrant a space in the 10 dollar bargain bin.

The 5 out 10 reviews were too kind.

Would you read the whole post…
Have you ever thought about the next game from Splash Damage?
For this, they need really good arguments to get their trust back from the old ET and ETQW fans.
Personally I won’t buy it, if it isn’t similar to one of the old games, there won’t be a beta or demo and if it isn’t shown on a PC system.
If Activision can ignore negative feedback, release a buggy game, have no dedicated servers, still make a bonkers amount of profit, and generally behave in an unpleasant manner (or so I hear), every other games developer/publisher have a massive hill to climb to get even remotely close.

With over 500,000 units shifted, this little forum counts towards very little in terms of customer opinion or feedback. Add to that the sheer number of people who can’t articulate themselves or relish abusing others or generally nay saying,
it’s a wonder the devs bother to read the comments here at all.

It does make me wonder though, what happened during closed beta, open beta and the demo releases that SD failed to pick up on so many issues? Wait, that last bit was irony, sorry.

I doubt devs give so much as a crap anyway .
At best they will wait till they release another game then say
“we learnt a lot of lessons from brink and listened to all of the feedback and we can definitely say this game surpasses all our wildest hopes and dreams after all we also like to play great games”
And then when people again fall for the same old crap they will buy the next game and then behold more rushed unfinished tripe with a little free DLC after a few months.
Can’t help but feel like someone is laughing all the way to the bank.
