SD - Brink & ATI issues need sorting!

(Smoochy) #1

come on. we wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt but its now gone beyond a joke.

ATI are clearly doing nothing (latest 11.6 made the game worse).

can you talk to ATI and get this sorted. 4 weeks of this is now long enough.

one of you is to blame. my guess ATI, BUT the problem is that in ATI’s eyes this game is a flop so they arent concentrating on fixing anything. witcher2 gets all the love and brink gets none.

as someone who bought a new gfx card to play brink, im massively annoyed that the new card works as well (if not worse) than my old 8800gtx that is 5 years old! i dont really care who is really at fault but pull your fingers out.

im sure one of the reasons that brink has flopped is that many ATI users just got sick of it. i like brink and want to play it for a few more months but the lack of developer feedback isnt good for PR. if you cant get ATI to get their backside in gear then what chance do we have?

Sorry but forget this game for the moment…
Splash don’t care about this issue … ATI too …
At least, Splash could give us some news but nothing , they don’t care … :frowning:

Play another game and maybe, in one month, with the DLC and new catalyst it wiil be better …
But I don"t believe anymore in this game …

i can still play ok most of the time. i enjoy the game enough to not be put off when it dips to the 20FPs mark as i still manage to kill people even when i crawls. i just with someone from ATI/SD would even acknowledge the fact!

Recommended specs for brink: System Requirements Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon™ HD 5850

Well in All tom hardware´s charts my HD 5770 crossfire beats the 5850 by a significant diference and i still have 20 to 30 fps, so those recommended specs are kinda a joke, it shoud have only nvidia cars in the recomended specs.

So basicly this low frame rate makes the multiplayer experience not much fun, aldow the game is pretty fun it gets frustrating to aim with sometimes less then 20 fps.

i can’t even play this game fluently on 640x480 with my 5850. if i didn’t have a team in brink, i would have left this game with the release of catalyst 11.6, because for me, all hope to play on a competitive level is gone.

splashdamage: Brink’s performance SUCKS!

(dp.LuCiFeR) #6

That’s embarrassing. Still no word from SD either ATI? What are they doing? Are they doing anything?

I really love Brink, but I can’t play it the way it’s ment to be…many friends already stopped playing Brink, the Hype is gone. The reason? They all have an ATI-Card -.-

So, what’s up SD? Does it make you happy seeing your Game going down?

Damn, i’m angry and out, before saying something stupid…

We’re working closely with the major GPU vendors on further performance improvements. We’re definitely not done on that front

from may 18th.

(Je T´aime) #8

Well KiL_888 thing is that the specific patch from ati to brink wich was 11.5b or something made no diference at all, and Ati employes in their tweeter sayd they don´t see anything wrong with brink perfomance so we are kinda doomed.

And all that was after 18th may

Garbage game … :frowning:

I overclocked my CPU by only 100 mhz and that made a huge difference. Ive gained 7 to 10 fps across the board. Now sec tower bottoms out at 35 instead of 27, so If you can overclock you should at least consider it. But if you do be very careful and only increase it in small increments and research.

(murka) #11

You can pretty much start with 20% overclock on stock cooler & voltage. Should be stable.

(Smoochy) #12

depends. i have an nforce motherboard and it needs a lot more love and voltage tweaking to get a decent overclock on. and i had to buy one of those £40 venom coolers.

but if you have a i7 you can get a 40% OC very easily. hopefully will be able to upgrade soon. gonna try to sell my old pc to my boss

i have tried stock 2.83Ghz upto 3.4Ghz and see little FPS increase. i even did a fresh install of win7 last night and still get the same fps. whatever i do i get dips in FPS to unacceptable levels

I have a q9550 overclocked to 3.4 ghz and I noticed a big increase. Now my framerate never drops below 30. Another thing to factor in is that I also have an overclocked ati 5850 hd, so my gpu has power to spare. I just wish they would acknowledge they are working on it. I mean the stat site isn’t even up for the pc yet.

I also use vsync with triple buffering, that may make a difference.

i did a reinstall last night just to see if it was down to any old nvidia drivers. against bots i can get steady 60fps (+vsync) with everything on. but online with people it dropped to the 25-30 fps in some places. need to do more tweaking again tonight but i had downclocked back to 3.2 as 3.4 isnt always stable. decent temps but it does crash sometimes. i have a terrible nforce motherboard though, that sucks for overclocking.

btw - i have an 6950 flashed to 6970 but i cant remember if i OC’d it after the reinstall.
