Scripts, tweaks, useful stuff!

(FireWorks) #1

Id like to start a new thread in the general forum for some scripts :slight_smile:

Lets hope it will be such a huge success like the one in ET:QW :wink:

For starters I got a Gamma and Brightness adjustment script here:

//Gamma change
bind KP_HOME “cvarAdd r_gamma 0.05; addchatline ‘Gamma:’; addchatline $r_gamma”
bind KP_LEFTARROW “cvarAdd r_gamma -0.05; addchatline ‘Gamma:’; addchatline $r_gamma”

//Brightness change
bind KP_UPARROW “cvarAdd r_brightness 0.05; addchatline ‘Brightness:’; addchatline $r_brightness”
bind KP_5 “cvarAdd r_brightness -0.05; addchatline ‘Brightness:’; addchatline $r_brightness”

That tool is actually quite useless. Most “tweaks” are 1) protected cvar and cant be changed for online matches, 2) are not even existing or 3) are simply written wrong.

I think it was kalbuth who said something in a match about a workaround for switching characters. kal, can you post that here, please? :slight_smile:

Anybody else got the command for switching chars (in the menu)? Disconnect, command, reconnect…

How to make execs for certain maps or factions?

EDIT: and how the hell do I remap the abilities? You know, switching mines with turrets corresponding to the GUI. So we could have the same controls in the esl config like we are already used on all our other characters. Please dont tell me about external remapping keys etc. I want to know about the ingame command so keys and GUI actually match.

Copy/pasting my post from the other scripts thread

I made this grenade toggle that acts as a weaponbank, press once and your mouse1 is used for throwing grenade, press again and it’s back to shooting as normal. Hated movement restriction I had when trying to throw a nade

set nadearmed “bind G $nadedisarmed; bind mouse1 _useGrenade; addchatline ‘Grenade Equipped’”
set nadedisarmed “bind G $nadearmed; bind mouse1 _attack; addchatline ‘Weapon Equipped’”
bind G $nadearmed

Note: Executing a rebind causes anything you’re doing to stop, so if you’re moving and press G, you’ll stop moving, and need to let go of the movement key and press it again. I’ve got into the habit of quickly letting go of everything, hitting G, then resuming movement again in one swift motion.
