I have been looking around trying to find info about this, but i didnt have succes,
so i decided to make a topic.

I want to create a invisible wall that block players but dont block bullets,
i mean, players cant go to other side of wall but they can shot trough it;
all this in .script file.

I dont know if its posible, but if its, ill apreciate all help u can give me,
im totally newbie scripting.

no scripting required! Just make a brush with clip texture

Make a brush where you want the wall to be and apply common/clip texture to it. It is really that easy. :slight_smile:

i didnt explain myself very well,

i have a sniper map already made (for example: UJE_kitchen_sniper),
in this map u can cross and i dont want to,
so i want to add an invisible wall or something like
in the middle of map to block players but not bullets.

Well first of all : are you Fumanchu from the VS server? If yes: hellow and welcome :wink:

2: It’s really what Sage says what you need. The clip texture will block any players, but won’t block bullets, grenades…
Take a look at the screenshot:

EDIT: unless you mean, you haven’t got the .MAP file, but just the .BSP file then I guess you have to add the texture indeed by yourself manually without radiant. If so, I’m afraid I’m no help to that

it is possible.
you need to know origin of that brush and its lenght/width…

the easiest way is to decompile that map and put real brush there, then u will know origin etc…

Or better: it is possible with ETPro 3-compatible mapscripts.

Try to know where the brush should come (its origin) and check all 8 corners of the brush. You should then define a “mins” and “maxs” key in the script to spawn the brush.

See ETPro forum: Scripting in ET Pro 3. Most mods support it nowadays, including ETPub and IIRC No Quarter.

A scripted invisible wall that you can shoot through is a func_fakebrush entity
with the contents field set to 65536 (known as player clip). This entity began with ETpub and ETPro and is available in all the major mods (but not plain old original ET).

The FritzBot ET wiki has its own topic page just on func_fakebrush. The mal_show… command is fritzbot specific but the rest applies to other mods. /viewpos gives you your current position of your belly button (give or take)
