Scripter needed for "Ramelle"

(TNR360) #1

The map represents the fictional battle for the small town of “Ramelle” as depicted in the film “Saving Pvt.Ryan”.

There are two capturable spawns in the map.

The axis objective is to push the allies out of the city with the help of two tanks.
The allied objective is to hold key city locations (secondary) and stop the tanks from forcing them out of town(primary).

Both tanks need to get to the bridge for an axis victory.

You can go inside ALL the buildings

Build time so far: 1 year
my first map started a year ago as a complete noob
so there are many noobish mistakes (you have no idea how long I spent merging unnecessary brushes)

Script job needed: Two escortable axis tanks, 2 capturable spawn points (with voice anounces[included])

Any volunteers?

thanks

Hi
I cannot do it but I still want to say good job for a first ET map! Add some trees in the background (the green hills in the distance).

Learn to do it yourself, its easier than you’d think (except maybe the tanks part - leave that till last and make use of goldrush as an example).

Google and search forums for guides.

Also, if you break up the ground a bit more, so it doesn’t look so flat, it’ll look better. Again, google/search forums for terrain tutorials.

Overall map does look nice. GW

BTW: Etmain has problems with two tanks in the same map if they both have an MG. I hope you can live with escortable tanks without MG?

(TNR360) #5

without mg is no problem

@ hills in background
will be a problem with VIS and FPS as every single building is enterable

@terrain
if only I knew how a year ago… it’s already done, I could work on it though

@ learning to script
will atempt it but I really need help with tanks

If you just start trying to make a tank work, it will probably surprise you how easy it is to make it work.
It’s hard to come up with the script all by yourself, yes, but since you have goldrush as a .map file available you can use the tank from there.

It’s just a matter of creating the splinepoints (name them the same as in the goldrush map) and add/delete code you need…
