script_mover must have a model

(_Muzzle_) #1

I’m back with a new problem, and before you all start saying “use the search button”. i’ve done that already but my problem stil isn’t fixed.

I wanted to create a room that is filled with water and has a control button to drain/refill the room. So i used a script mover for my water and origin brush and my control panel.
I compiled the map and got the script_mover must have a model error, I searched the forum and found out that you need a origin brush with the same script_mover keys/values. I did that, compiled, got the same error. I just deleted the entire waterbrush/origin and my control panel, compiled and got the same error again. :disgust:

any help would come in handy :bored:

You have to combine the origin brush and the water brush to one script_mover entity.
Choose the origin brush and the water brush, right click to open up the entity contextmenu and choose script/script_mover.

I just remade my waterbrush/origin and control panel, selected the water brush and the origin brush and made them a script_mover. Recompiled and got the same error :bored:

May be it’s another origin brush in your map.

i don’t think so because everything just worked fine before i tested this script_mover
:???: :bored:

The solution proposed by nullSkillz is correct. I would suggjst deleting the new work and starting over.

A good tutorial for script_mover

I would suggest deleting the new mover, then recompiling to check that the error is gone.
Then make your new mover in a small test map to get it working. This is to cut time between failures. :slight_smile:
Then import it into your main map and try again.

I deleted my new script_mover, origin brush and control panel and got the same error :angry: :banghead: :bash:

I probably know what to. In the .map file is a entity without any brush. So maybe the solution is to open the .map file with a text processor and search for script_mover and check if there is an entity without a brush.
It will look like something like this:

// entity 36
{
“classname” “script_mover”
“targetname” “car_group”
}
// entity 37…

You’ll need to remove this from the file.

i think the possibility the original poster see this is tends to be close to zero :evil:
well we can hope he didnt gave up the whole mapping and found the problem somehow…

edit: i checked; his last post is from 2004. IX. 22. :frowning:
