SC2 shortest half life of any game I've ever played.

Community is more dead after release than any game I played. For the numbers it had starting out. There are more people playing the older Blizzard games than SC2 now.

I think Blizzard made a perfect example of what not to do. 1, try and control what people want to play. 2, Dont try to innovate without already utilizing what works. 3, hiring pro gamers to balance your game.

Wolfenstein 2009.

Eh, are the numbers really comparable?

Seeing as wolfenstein died in 2 minutes, the halflife of that can’t possibly be beaten by any other game, no matter how high the starting player count

The thing with Starcraft 2 is just that it’s never a breeze. No matter what your skill level, every single game is blood sweat and tears to win. I can’t play Starcraft for very long because then it will mentally occupy me the rest of the day, I will start rerunning the battles in my head and analysing them.

It’s not like any other game.

i really enjoyed some 198x games, let alone newmade garbage with shiny FX’es but w/zero gameplay/storyline/replayablity.
i mean - nothing changes. so fast. as you mean.
and yes, SC2 was cosmetic improvement of SC1. some stuff, really added was mandatory for good gaming “in general”, but nothing Really expected in package, yes :[
Video intro/outro/cutscenes ? too much for $90, IMO.
but im really like engine in some part. maybe sometime later, they made brilliant products, using iteration of such thing[in otherIP/Universe, i guess].

when income so high, WHY innovate, advance, dream, create, fly higher, stronger, better ?

good games never “too old” for good gamers.
point is its just way harder to meet between them.
between generations, between stopped[decades ago]sales, between level of appearance/UI&etc.

p.s.
just recently re-installed SupCom 1 from dusty box.
and tried some 3 hrs skirmishes on 40kx40km maps.
