[Save/Load] A corruption was detected

(plumm26) #1

I just bought the game and when I try to play the game either freezes message appears on the screen every time I try to play saying “a corruption was detected and Brink is unable to continue lading. Please restart Brink and download the game add on pack again.” What do I do? I have all ready tried deleting my save file. I did not pre order the game so what game pack is the message talking about? any help would be appreciated.

(by the way, I have a Xbox 360)

Thanks

Hi plumm26, can you or anyone else confirm if you are still getting this issue?

(Seakrakken) #3

I get that same issue as well. It seems like if I do not install the game to my hard drive I get that corruption error. If I do install it I get a “disk is unreadable” error from time to time instead.

Yes I am having the same issue
I tried installing to my hard drive and am also now getting the “Disk is unreadable” error instead of the a “corruption was detected” error…

Below are some ideas for troubleshooting freezes in BRINK.

[ul]
[li]Check the integrity of downloaded game content (including game updates)
[/li]
[li]Note: You are not required to delete your Save Data for this step
[/li][li]For PS3: Game > Game Data Utility > [Triangle]
[/li][li]For 360: My Xbox > System Settings > Memory > Highlight any storage device and press [Y] > Clear System Cache
[/li][/ul]
[ul]
[li]Check the integrity of your disc
[/li]
[li]Check your disc for scratches, dust, dirt, or other damage. Clean if necessary.
[/li][li]Check your disc in another console.
[/li][li]If you bought the disc new (not second hand) and there was a visible physical problem with it on first use, or if the disc fails to work in both yours and another’s console, call the support hotline displayed in the manual that came with the disc.
[/li][/ul]
[ul]
[li]Check the integrity of your console
[/li]
[li]Check other game discs in your PS3/360 to see if issues are occurring for multiple games.
[/li][li]If your copy of BRINK works in another console and not yours, your console is probably the root cause.
[/li][/ul]
If you think the issue may be your console, please contact the manufacturer for support:

Microsoft
Xbox 360 support
Xbox 360 crash/freeze troubleshooting

Sony
PlayStation 3 support

Let us know if that resolves the issue.

As it turns out, I’m pretty sure everybody that has this issue has a 2006 (or earlier if there is one) Xbox. I’m guessing there is some sort of advanced coding in the game or something that our drives were never meant to read. Soooooo on that note i believe this issue is the fault of Splash Damage because they should have taken us into account. The only way i can see to fix this issue that a PAYING CUSTOMER has is buying a new Xbox or sending mine in to have the disc drive replaced by Microsoft for over $100!!! Yes, Microsoft will try and sell you into it by saying it comes with a warranty and a year of live but as a college student, I’m always broke so thanks Splash Damage for making a good game but no thanks for making it completely unplayable. Unless Splash Damage some how fixes this I won’t be playing Brink on my Xbox. (Yes I have gone through the motions of testing to see if my Xbox is broken or anything and its not)

Please respond if anyone has an early Xbox model and is experiencing this problem so we can possibly get this fixed without going WAY out of our way.

That seems to be whats goin on, its pretty ridiculous. I have an old xbox so i think thats the root cause of it I mean, i cant even show my mates the game, i put it in yesterday and before he even got to see a game being played, that bloody message pops up.

This game should have been released a few months from now, utter failure.

All this talk about clearing your system cache, deleting my save games, having a faulty disc or xbox is utter nonsense. Deleted save game, no change. Cleared system cache, no change. My disc i fine and so is my xbox. This is the first ever xbox game i have owned that has crashed so often, and all my other games WORK LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO. Yeah, maybe once every blue moon a game would crash, but not multiple times a day.

Sort it out splash damage, i know not everyone is experiencing these problems but for the people who are, the game is nearly unplayable. Such a shame that a good game like this pretty much kills itself off because of all the things that are wrong with it. Even somebody from SD actually acknowledging these problems would be enough for me, but there has been very little feedback so i’ve nearly given up. If this problem isn’t fixed by the time the free dlc is released, then its a pretty useless piece of dlc in my eyes.

But to all the people who’s xbox’s let them play the game, keep playing because this game rocks
sorry rant over, ugh
