satchel medpack mini-mod

This is a ultra-small-weight mod for WolfET made by IndyJones and Berzerkr (Wolfmap.de).
It’s replacing covert ops satchel with medic medpack model. There are 2 versions - one with the ‘hum’ sound, and the other one without it. Made for fun, hopefully you will enjoy it… :slight_smile:

one question

whats in that 1 md3 file? couldn’t u just use the missilemodel from the medpacks like u did the actual model?

i assume not as u would of done it, but im curious why not

it’s rotated medpack model - the original one is at diffrent angle compared to satchel. :slight_smile:

If the model for the “medpack on the floor” is used with missilemodel-thing in the weap-file, then it’s not more correct aligned ingame.
Don’t know why, the new md3 was the only solution to fix it.

1 question. Why? Why a covert ops laying down explosive medpacks? I mean, I can only see an annoyance in a server where someone goes to get HP and they perhaps die… thats kinda lame, you gotta admit.

that’s the purpose. how many times did you kill someone before with real satchel? i could count on one hand.

Well, satchel is not made for killing.
But still might be fun to mess around with peoples head.

The textures could be different from medpack.
So that there is a chance to distiguish it.
May be the color of the cross.

Could also be a skill for the NQ mod.

if someone request, i can make a diffrent version by replacing md3 (and where you can change skin path by editing text file).

I think its better looking like a real medpack. There is still the satchel hum to give it away so you have to keep on your toes. It seems much more of a tactical weapon, you cant use satchel all that often and it will be pretty obvious your a covert ops if your playing with the detonator

The only downside is that it should perhaps not look like a medpack to friendly troops

Hehe, I get lots of kills with satchel you just have to know how to use it. For example, don’t put it on floors, put it on a table then it looks like it is supposed to be there.

Great idea, but I think it would be better if your teammates could distinguish it easier than your enemies (like mines!) Otherwise, you will have 3 teammates on top of a ‘fake’ medpack trying to pick up it… Not likely that some enemy will get close enough that way :stuck_out_tongue:

hm, i don’t think it’s possible by making a small mod… compiling source may be required. i could make allies pack with blue cross for example, and red for axis… but that’s not really good idea. as far i remember, when u aim at satchel in NQ, u can see the name of the guy who threw it…

On the other hand, if people of your own team stand on it and realize you can’t pick it up, they just leave the pack and continue playing… in the meanwhile you, as covops, had a great laugh.
I would leave it as it is now. I surely want to test it on a public and see the effect ^^
