Sapphire Radeon 6850 HD Stutter / Lag

(kudohlol) #1

I have tried to update my driver’s and use some console recommended commands such as
r_shadows 0
r_useThreadedRenderer “2”

note for each of the following driver’s i have attempted, i have completely uninstalled ATI driver’s and catalyst each time with reboot’s inbetween and driver sweeper to clean it all up again.

I have attempted driver’s 10.11 (work perfectly for my friends ATI 5800) 11.2/11.3/11.4/11.5/11.5a

Each of the driver’s still gives me the same problem… I stutter, i have choppy fps dropping from mid 30’s to 5, highs of 50, then back down to 5-8… When im moving, it isnt fluent its like a stuttery movement and feels as if im clipping onto objects all around me.

I have the same card but mine doesn’t reach to 5s. Lowest is probably around 20s in open areas. I’m using 11.3s.

What’s your CPU?
Are you installing/uninstalling drivers correctly?
Other programs on?

(kudohlol) #3

The CPU was in original Post…

Q6600 @ 2.4ghz (4cpus) 2.4 ghz…

Yes, im uninstalling drivers correctly.

Im following AMD’s recommended uninstallation of driver’s guide…

No other major programs running. Xfire in backround?

Bump!!!

(Dianetics) #5

Maybe its sapphires causing the FPS problems with ATIs. I downloaded the 11.5a hotfix but maybe my default drivers are better?
