Samples 3 To use or not to use?

I have recently been given the impression that -samples 3 should not be used in our batch files and that we should not go above -samples 2. Is this correct? If so, why should we not use it? Thanks again

You shouldn’t go over -super 2 on large maps, as memory requirements go up with the square of the value. Using -samples 3 (or 4 or 10) only increases computation time. Beyond 3 there is little point in using, given the (lack of) precision in 8bpc lightmaps.
