Same compile problem

(Mammoth Entertainment Inc) #1

hey i am still having this error when i compile my map:
safe_malloc failed on allocation of 204996608 bytes

\i read some otehr posts so i increased my virtual memory so the comptuer can control it as it needs it. I still get the exact same error as before. I also read that the lowmem key can be used to solve this problem. Unfortunatly it never said where the key is or where (if) i have to type it in. Any help as to where to sue the “lowmem” or “lomem” key in radiant.

Also heres how my virtual mem is set up:

Also not sure about where to use the option.

But I think you have to edit the compiler options from within GTKRadiant (unfortunatelly also don’t know how to change compiler options in GTKRadiant).
Or you have to use batch files.

If I don’t have anything contributory to add, I typically don’t post. In this case, I don’t know what the problem is or how to fix it, so I didn’t post any wild guesses.

-lomen goes in the light options, although its better to solve the cause of the problem as this will add to your compile time in a big way.
Normal cause is poor map build/design.

lol ok, drakir said i should d/l the new version of q3map 2.5.16. IO did but its hard to install/ put into the folders.

To add to the post above, I Googled for ‘safe_malloc failed on allocation’ and found a couple of fixes here

http://www.modsonline.com/index.php?mod=MapErrors&op=verr&id=11

But you already did that and tried those suggestions … right?
