safe_malloc even with -lowmem

I added -lowmem in my compile process right after -light -fast and I still run into a safe_malloc error, is this possible or am I just doing it wrong?

I have no lights in my map, no shader lights, no lighting whatsoever, but it fails on the SetupTraceNodes process in a lighting compile. I’m making my map for Jedi Academy. It only has 4900 brushes but its rather large physically.

Does anyone have a tutorial for fixing this error?

The only way I can fix it is by raising _lightmapscale to 28 or by removing around 1500 brushes. I’ve got the map caulked fairly well, and with only 4900 brushes there shouldn’t be an inordinate amount of surfaces to light, mind you there are some really large surfaces in my map, but when I cropped my map a lot smaller I still had the error… any help on this would be great. Oh and when I gave my map to another person to compile he was able to compile without trouble and he has only 1gb of memory, half of what I have… the only significant difference is he was using a macintosh and i’m using a windows machine. He also has radiant 1.5 and i have radiant 1.4. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

The correct key is “lomem” not “lowmem” !!  well its working :D.
