S&D game mode?

(Hated-Zombie) #1

so do the devs plan on putting in this game mode? b/c that would be great for the game over all and any new about when it’s coming out?
thanks for your time

The game is not really in a choosing game modes kind of state, so it’s probably safe to say that no modes have been ruled out yet. Although by posting requests you do make a stronger case for one mode over another.

Regarding release date I have no idea when this might be, but an educated guess would suggest it’s very unlikely to be this year. However if you weren’t already aware there is planned to be an open beta before release, so keep your eyes pealed for that.

I kind of wish uploads to the Splash Damage YouTube were a bit more regular to keep drip feeding the hungry fans with tidbits of info. But what I can let you know is that alpha pack owners get access to the private videos, which are updated almost weekly and usually contain literally the latest or brand new concepts that sometimes haven’t even been implemented in to the game yet. All very exciting to see if you’re gagging for more, however it is all under NDA so you won’t be able to discuss it with anyone outside of the private alpha forum.

I’m pretty sure (90%) that the veteran packs will give you video access, but it might only be for elite packs and above. Perhaps someone else could confirm?

Just watch the sticky post on this forum. All packs give you access to the video page.

Lawl tht would be funny

Hey bud. I suggest checking out Wolf:ET on youtube for some overviews of how the usual game modes/play work. I could see SnD working in a certain fashion, but I think you SnD folks would enjoy the stopwatch mode much more.

S&D?? Let’s hope not.

If you want S&D I suggest you stick with the CoD franchise. They have re-packaged and re-sold the game many times over. There are plenty of versions and titles to choose from to get your S&D fix. Not to mention, even in the CoD world, it is one of the less played modes of CoD.

(INF3RN0) #8

SnD is a great mode, but it just doesn’t quite fit with the class based play of DB imo.

(Hated-Zombie) #9

One I’m not a cod fan and two cod did not come up with s&d cs did and putting tht game mode in the game would bring a lot of ppl to this game

(Hated-Zombie) #10

True but maybe they can put their own spin on the game type bc of the classes just a thought

(Hated-Zombie) #11

Stopwatch? What’s tht all about I don’t suppose you could show me a video of it or would tht break the NDA? also link me some videos of w:et so I can see wht you mean thanks

(Volcano) #12

stopwatch is when one team plays a around and sets a time they completed the maps objective and the 2nd round the other team aims to beat that time

(acekiller345) #13

Essentially, yes, but im going to explain it more in depth… just because I can

So, like Volcano said, one team sets a time, and the other team has to beat it. So, imagine you are playing on a map called Refinery (if this is a map name from Dirty Bomb then im screwed… i took this from ET:QW). Team A is attacking, Team B is defending. Lets say Team A wins the map in 15 minutes, out of the standard 20 minutes per map.
This would mean that the teams would swap sides, so that Team B is now attacking, and Team A is defending. Now, since Team A won the map in 15 minutes, Team B’s timer for time left on the map would be 15 minutes, instead of the usual 20.

This promotes Stopwatch use in competitions rather then public servers, to have a contest on which team can set the better time for the map, instead of just having one team attack and win with maybe 10 seconds left, they would need to set a time that is hard for the other team to beat.

(Hated-Zombie) #14

Wht I’m looking for is a game type tht only gives you one life per round and not just one life tdm it would be nice to keep it objective based gameplay

(INF3RN0) #15

It won’t break NDA because these modes were already done before in past SD games. Basically SW is where two teams are trying to set a map completion time. The team that can do it faster wins overall. Imagine it as an SnD where your main goal is to plant the bomb as quickly as possible, meaning your trying to keep the enemy team dead as often as possible because they will respawn. Your not worried about dying, but rather completing the team objective- so in a way your forced into very fast paced coordinated attacks each spawn wave to try and secure and complete your objective. The classes offer different combat/support roles for your team, so on top of all the fast paced shooting your also trying to maximize your proficiency with what each class can offer.

I think SnD players will like it if they can handle the pure speed that it plays at. A successful wipe plays out similarly, but then you have to hold off the next enemy spawn wave on top of that. Think SnD on crack and bath salts lol.
