yes so I didnt stop working on it… but lets just say Ive been busy busy since I dont have school to go to anymore… Ive actually knocked out a lot of new things

location names… works the same as etpro… via loc.dat files or for mappers target_location

perminatly removed foliage from radar

fixed the missing texture in the bank of goldrush

medics tk revives get automatically complaint dismissed.

added a new server cvar for competion … this cvar allows referees the ability to turn on/off ammo and health rack access and can control the type of damage a movable ent can recieve

off the top of my head thats some of the major updates… there are some other small things here and there that you can tell the difference between last update and this one

should be allowing a public beta update within the next week or so

i hate foilage, i kills framerate without adding that mutch the the graphics, like weather effects

check it out in the current released rtcwmod… there is a texture missing in the bank… etpro had the same problem and you will notice in their pk3 it has the same texture as mine

I had no clue about it until like a month ago :confused:

warming do not use ref fling <name> or ref launch<name> there is a bug in them that will crash the server

a patch for this will be out soon

I changed the name because of a major PR problem… no one wants to play it… when asked why… the usual answer is… “if I wanted to play rtcw I would buy it” … so by changing the name its assumed that the non-forum followers will play the mod not knowing its original origins

and in all actuallity… the mod morphed into a blend of etpro, shrub and rtcw with some other new features such as class limitations… so its not a true rtcw port to et.

at this point however Im pretty much done working on it… the mod gets zero play and has no community support… even when adding in things that no other mod has ie +dropweapon, class limitations, etc. and adding in things that people said they wanted in order to play the mod… hitsounds… the mod still just not working out for the community

my hopes is this new name will change peoples views about playing “rtcw for et” without even knowing that thats what they are playing… and when/if the community picks up on the mod… then I might come back and work on some more of it… or pass it on to someone else to finish up where I left off

i think it’s a very well done mod, but the problem is basically that etpro and shrub are pretty well entrenched at this point. what with the leagues requiring etpro, you’re not likely to see this mod get much competition action. as for pubs, comp players play etpro because that’s where their matches will be.

as for the purely pub players, most love the goofiness shrub gives them (i hate it). for those players, i think your mod blows shrub away, and since shrub is essentially abandoned, those admins should really consider switching to this mod. the problem is, their regulars will likely have a cry, and that’s why it’s so hard to make the switch.

so, not to be cruel, but perhaps you should begin focusing attention on the “pub market”. like i said, shrub is dead as far as development, and bayonet isn’t likely to see the light any time soon, so this is a perfect opportunity to slip into that opening. your mod is the best and most complete solution for a purely pub server right now i think.
