rtcwmod .0.4

(Demolama) #1

just to let you all know rtcwmod beta version .0.4 is about to be released:

new stuff included:

whole new item pickup system… reverted back to the rtcw dropweapon idea( no more bending over and pressing activate to grab a weapon from the ground)

server defined leveling system… like shrub or etpro

class/weapon limitation now also has a percentage option example( when server drops below a server defined percent… lets say 50 % of a max amount allowable by the server…so if its a 32 man server when it hits below 50% full (15people ) then classes/weapons are cut by x percent of normal limit)

with new dropweapon implemented the console got very spammy so I added an option to when items are picked up the client can determine where he wants the description placed the hud like in rtcw or console like in et

this update should be out by the weekend

I went ahead and made this into a news post over at RtCWFiles.com so go check it out, you might have some comments.

(Demolama) #3

cool thank you very much

(Demolama) #4

just released .0.4 http://home.comcast.net/~dbpryor/rtcwmod_0_4.zip

currently the so files for linux are the newer gcc compiler… I should have an older gcc compile sometime later this week( after I reinstall it on a computer) … so that older systems can run the mod as well

(Demolama) #5

just found 4 bugs

1: d_levels for coverts and heavy weapons do not work… because I did a for loop with the number of skill levels not the number of skills ie 5 instead of 7
2: not being able to drop weapon with dual lugers out
3: picking up an smg when you have a pistol and heavy weapon
4: heavy weapons 4 starting out with the wrong weapon in some cases

should be out with a patch soon

(NightKiller) #6

Could you please compile a .zip with the mod, a readme and some screenshots that you would like me to put up onto rtcwfiles.com and send it to nightkiller@rtcwfiles.com please.

(Demolama) #7

same link… inside the folder in the zip there is a file called rtcwmod_0_4fix1.pk3 this has all the fixes for the bugs I found… just replace this one with the old rtcwmod_0_4.pk3

http://home.comcast.net/~dbpryor/rtcwmod_0_4.zip

(NightKiller) #8

the email that you sent, you didnt attach anything to it, resend it please.

(Demolama) #9

its a big file … it may not be able to stay in your inbox… depending on how much your quota is … if it doesnt work again… that might be the case… or that my service doesnt like me sending things that big

I resent… if it doesnt work this time… just dl from the link above… take screenshots from my webpage… the readme is already included

(bani) #11

maybe next time you can try building for glibc2.2 instead of glibc2.3 so the rest of the linux users can play :moo:

(Rain) #12

maybe you should upgrade your oldass glibc installation and join the rest of modern civilization :moo: :stuck_out_tongue:

(Fusen) #13

\o/ and maybe you can… or maybe not :frowning:

(Demolama) #14

lol… yea Ive been thinking about an older gcc compile … if/when I get a box up an running with the old compiler or find someone who has an older gcc and wants to compile it … but I got the new version on everything because I need the new version for school… believe it or not my school isnt in the stone age :stuck_out_tongue:
