RTCW to ET Map Conversion - map makers wanted - earn $$$

my clan has lost our map maker and were looking for a new one!

if anyone is interested in converting over one or more RTCW maps to ET
and if you can do it for a reasonable price we would be interested in
‘paying you for your time/skills’

we have permission from several sources to do conversions on a few oldie maps

You may want to specify which maps you want to port over. There may be mappers that, in general, have no desire to do coversions, but if you had the right one, might be willing to do so.

i have permission to have the following maps converted to ET:
Mountain Assault
Project Schwalbe
SoulPortal 2
POW Escape
Wroclaw

but i also have permission to put a few of my clans recruiting posters around a few walls

I hope you find a mapper, i would love POW Escape to be ported to ET, such a great map, i like the idea where you can select what huts to spawn in, and also the car and goldfish. :smiley:

FWIW, and I responded to your PM, just because you have the source files doesn’t mean this is a simple easy process. This is based on my experience with 2 ports anyways. Even with the source, you have to do the following:

Replacing what textures you can with their ET analogs
Stripping out textures and models from RTCW for inclusion in the pk3
Redoing significant portions of the script
Command maps
edoing/replacing outdated entities
Adjusting maps to deal with the realities of ET weapons (e.g., mortars)
Fixing thing other issues with the map, that the original mapper didn’t do.

At least this is what I had to do with Breakout

Besides, i don’t think you have permission from Codey to convert POW Escape to et.
I did asked him about it and didn’t recalled of giving it the ok to do so.
