Ofc I would like to see the good old RtCW and W:ET maps but I guess when I would play Beach with Brink I would just have the feeling that RtCW is the better game.

RTCW Destruction has always been the most brutal RTCW map on my wishlist. Not sure it fits Brink tho.

I think it would be cool to see maps like base/sub/village from rtcw and fuel dump/oasis from et in brink… Release this sdk let’s get someone on this :)… Maybe even if splash damage did tribute maps!!

Lol, i can imagine Baserace in Brink, rtcw and et maps are good but they just won’t fit in Brink.
And I have played those maps like 5 years… I want play something new and fresh.
Brink is Brink.
I would perfer QW maps but Brink don’t have vehicles :frowning:

No, stop living in the past.

RTCW, ET and even ET:QW maps just wont work in Brink without heavy modifications. Idtech3 (RTCW/ET) uses a different player scale so you need to scale the map accordingly otherwise you end up with the mess that was the tc_base and oasis ET:QW map conversions. I don’t trust many mappers out there to do the classic maps any justice, and those I do I would rather they stick at what they do best and make original content.

Remember these past maps were designed for games with features such as capturable spawn flags, selectable spawns, field ops/lt, faster player movement and so on. Also the maps were not designed with SMART in mind nor on the fly class changes. You can’t just expect to copy paste the layout, change some textures and have yourself an insta-playable map. With the effort required to make it playable in Brink you may as well have made an original map, plus the modifications would probably make the map feel nothing like the original it’s based upon.

Why bother?

Because it’s boring.

Goldrush, Oasis and best of all Fuel Dump would work really well converted to Brink. Might need to scale the drone up to the size of a tank to compensate though :slight_smile:

I want to play Base in Brink - when the SDK comes out I might become a hermit for a month and recreate it myself. I was playing DoD:S a few months ago when I came across a server with a DoD version of Beach. Wasn’t great but the memories came flooding back :smiley:
