RTCW Assault map on ET

well some dude made a partial copy of assault thought it looks nutting like rtcw assault

The beta is quite nice but it needs at least 5v5 players otherwise there’s too much running alone. Anyone heard anything about a final version ?

hey,

i’m the guy who made the map. it’s almost ready for a second beta release, if i had more time the existing problems could be fixed within a day, but though it is exam time it may take much longer :banghead:

I wonder: Did the original Assault map come with the game (RtCW) or did you do a de-compile?
And why did you call it Assault, when it is not like Assault? I would have used the name AssaultRevisited or Assaulted.
Nevertheless, you did a good job. It is popular at the servers around the globe.

he used “et_assault(beta)” and it’s build from scratch.

It’s more like a theme-copy than a mapcopy. I prefer the theme copy (assault, fueldump), instead of just copying the whole map (like they did with beach, base).

So I don’t mind this map using the name “assault” :slight_smile:

pack is right, i just “copied” the base layout with the two towers the hangar and the gate area. but i didn’t decompile anything.
why i still call it assault?? i guess because i’m the most uncreative guy on world when it is about naming a map or project and because i think it still reminds people of the original map
