round summary performance tab so glitchy

(PorkyPerson) #1

The round summary screen after a match is almost always buggy, especially if I’ve completed one or two missions. Let’s say I have missions A, B, and C. If I complete 1 or 2, the performance tab will often have mission C in two boxes with no mention of missions A or B. Both boxes for mission C might even have different amounts of XP listed to complete.

Looks to me like when you start a match you references for three mission objects are saved, but something bungles those references up. I suspect that completing a mission changes its address, but neglects to update the references.

I should have taken a screenshot, but let’s say the performance tab has slots 1, 2, and 3 and you have missions A, B, and C. If you complete mission A, you would expect to see either missions A and B in slots 1 and 2 or slots 2 and 3. What happens is you might get mission B in slot 1 and repeated in slot 2. It’s pretty clear when the error occurs.

It’s not a real bug or problem.
I guess (and I’m pretty sure of it) that you play exclusively in stopwatch or execution when it occurs.

Each round (either in execution or sw) save your mission’s progression. Then when you see your missions at the end of the second round.

If you finished a mission (A in slot 1) after the first round, it’s not displayed after the second round. But the mission B which you didn’t finish after round 1 is in slot 1 because there is no more mission A displayed.
And it’s in slot 2 as well because you didn’t finish it after round 1.

I guess (you can verify) the mission progression is not the same in both slot for the same missions.

Tldr:
1st round - mission A finished and mission B not yet.
2nd round - mission A not displayed because finished before and mission B displayed because it remains after first round

It’s like the two rounds of stopwatch are like 2 match of objective.

It’s not really a bug, nor a wanted feature.
It’s an unexpected feature.

Except it often displays mission A twice, which really is a bug. Additionally, sometimes mission A will be finished, but it will be displayed in both slot 1 and slot 2 as unfinished(but with progression bars at different spots).

That’s why I say it’s as if the pointers to the missions got invalidated and it’s pointing to random memory, and that’s a pretty big deal.
