Rotation Change!
not being able to release mercs every 2 weeks when they’re already made doesnt quite give me hope
lol, prolly less to do with their ability as much as them wanting to test the stuff they want to test
No update this week ? :(
Not this week. @Kroad the next Merc is all good actually- just some other things in the patch that need testing and bug stomping before we release it.

Getting concerned about the delays in new mercs… If there is major pressure to get this game up and running before competition comes out they need to move mercs faster. It isn’t possible to balance the playing field without all the players
How many delays have there been?
DB barely has rumors of open beta after June. No release date is tentative at this point. There isn’t a race to release because even if there was Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm have way bigger budgets than DB.
EDIT: Typo >.>

true but don’t you want it to be nearly or complete by the time those games come around to not loose a bunch of players to them

I would rather have the game be done in 2016 and done well than released in a month and done fast.
There are times to rush, but comprising the quality for speed of release is a bad move. I’ve watched it kill games first hand. They release a buggy and poorly balanced game, and then the initial wave of people who investigate it are immediately turned off from it. It’s even worse if there’s any press, because that draws more attention to the launch failure. It’s very hard to fix first impressions. Personally, I’d rather they take the time to get it right first, because once its out there, you can’t put it back. If they simply must release it unfinished I hope for all our sakes it’s done quietly. Once everything is in and balanced, then hype it up. The time when the most people will be playing is always after launch. You want to retain them, or at least have them walk away saying it’s not for them. Not walk away telling all their friends that the game is a grindy poorly balanced joke.
From what I’ve heard, Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm will be pretty casual. I’m not sure I’d classify them as being direct competition to the niche that Dirty Bomb is trying to fill.
It’s exactly the other way around. All these games are very different from each other so if there’s any competition between them, it’s in popularity. DB is already in a losing position, there I think everyone can agree on that. In this case, it’s even worse for them to release the game before Overwatch, since then everybody will just jump ship due to ESPORTS DOLLARS and probably not come back, whereas if DB comes some time after Overwatch, then with good advertising people might realize that hey, those DB seems like a different kind of good fun, and hopefully by that point everything in it is polished to a point where there will be no hesitation stemming from beta sickness when it comes to committing time to it.
neither of those games have any interest for me and several of my friends, so no biggie
