Rotating brushes -> not align in finish of rotation

(mcunha98) #1

Hi,

I am a newbie in GTKRadiant for ET ( i developed maps for Medal of Honor and Call of Duty, so i know and am family with Radiant mode of work).

But when i clone a brush (or when i make a new brush) the rotation not work fine, the objects not align.

I need config some thing in GTKRadiant to work correctly or this a bug of GTKRadiant 1.3.8-ET :???:

Thanks …

You could always cut the brush, using 2 point clipping, or use the clipper tool.

Ok, but the rotation in GTKRadiant is this ?
It not align objects correctly on finish of the rotation ???

This is not a bug, it’s just the way map files work: they have a limitted precission. Once rotated, the numbers get rounded. Turn them back and you’ll see the edges are not on the same places they used to be.

Solution: do not rotate around arbitrary angles, only multiples of 90 degrees. (Maybe 45 would work as well, haven’t tried it)

Hey MCunha, I see you moved to ET as well?

After some hours using the editor i discovery the way of resolve the problem.
When i finish the job of rotate the brush, i used the CTRL+G ( snap to grid ) to align the object.

I suggest using “snap to grid” more often than not.

@mcunha98 second tool bar down, 8 buttons in (you might want to have a play with the 5 buttons in front of it as well).
