What’s so funny exactly?

Your attitude.
@SzGamer227 you’re missing the point. We were told it was going to be a fixed loadout. Regardless of which loadout it is, there are people who are willing to invest their money into a fixed card. They simply despise RNG and gambling.

They were mislead. Unintentional or not, we have every right to be upset.
If you want to talk about being upset, can we talk about how Proxy beat Stoker in Culprit only because she’s an easy-to-play objective merc in a game that revolves around objectives? When an Obsidian Stoker card is the single greatest card I can imagine owning? That I wasted $15 on a garbage Proxy I will never use, while Proxy’s supporters can’t even be happy with Proxy stealing Culprit because most of her loadouts suck even to Proxy players?

Yeah. We’re not here to talk about being upset. I don’t appreciate all the disagrees on my post just because you guys feel you have the “right to be upset”. I’m just trying to show you guys a bright side to this shit storm that all the #anyonebutProxy people predicted was coming. But no. This thread isn’t getting anywhere. People are stuck in their ways, and if y’all can’t see past your disappointment enough to react any way but by disagreeing and griping the same gripes that this thread was targeted at, then it shouldn’t be hard for you all to understand why this is a waste of my time.

@RazielWarmonic - This thread doesn’t seem to be accomplishing anything, since the people who have complaints about RNG cases also happen to be incurably pessimistic. Close it please!

The facts (as I understand them, correct me if I am wrong)

Culprit Obsidian came bundled with Aimee for $15 US.
All other obsidian loadouts released previously released were static.
All other obsidian loadouts released previously were not directly purchasable with IRL currency.
A reputable source confirmed the Culprit Obsidian would be static at the end of the third week of the event.
At the end of the fourth week of the event it was stated that the Culprit Obsidian may not be static.

IMO

Players that waited for confirmation that the new obsidian would NOT be RNG and purchased the Vengence pack between 4/26 and 5/3 have every right to be upset.

I truly appreciate all the hard work that goes into these events and the fact that efforts were made to balance the loadouts with a 2nd generation of cards. I image the choice to use RNG was at least partly to showcase the improvements to the balance of the new generation of cards. The case for RNG could have been made at the start of the event and people wouldn’t have any reason to be upset now. I’m sure fewer Vengence Packs would have been sold in that case and that’s why the players who purchased RNG despite their best efforts are mad.

I purchased the Vengence pack as soon as I logged in on the first day of the event and while I’m bummed that I got two cards I’ll likely never use I realize I was never promised a static loadout and that’s just the risk with RNG. I would still have purchased the pack had it been marketed as RNG and I hope that store items are labeled as such in the future just to better prepare for the potential disappointment  The bigger issue for me was bundling the obsidian with Aimee which asks the players that have supported the game for more time (and probably with more $) to pay for something they have already earned with in game credits.
