Someones gotta port the Japanese Castles map and work around it for ET… imagine a lovely water garden, old japanese stylee houses with paper \o/ walls, back end of the map could contain like a massive waterfall with cliff faces to go down (like batterys far end side but MASSIVE SCALE) and a nice olden wooden dock :>
Spawn top, work way down, steal from house and escape to the dock

I wouldn’t hold my breath for the source.
Firstly, unfortunately you don’t have a proven record on such things, and secondly it occurred to me why they didn’t give the source away as is usual for Q3-based games.
Competition.
ET is free. Now let’s assume someone does a great mod to make ET totally different setting - what if this competes with an Activision game? Bad idea… Someone gives out a free version of a paying game in effect, the companies lose. It never used to bother them when the original game must be paid for, because they’ve already had your money.
I really don’t think any conversion mods will get the green light from Activision - it’s not a suprise to me the only ones so far OK’ed are ones that don’t really change ET, just fix a few bugs (or in Shrub’s case, add a million new ones).

Skin pack is done. I’m considering releasing the the skinpack as a preveiw of the mod. It appears Activision may give the mod a go ahead. 
What I want to change/add:
Complete the skin selection system
Add bayonets
Change knife to machete for Japanese
What I need:
Weapons models, Japanese & American featuring bayonets.
A world map graphic to use in the campaign loading screen.
Historical report on Japanese weapons during ww2 (links etc.)
Custom maps with Japanese/Asian architecture.

Good luck - I think I may have misunderstood - I read about the ‘castles’ geing cool and thought you were going for a total conversion, not merely extending the game slightly

If you will get the source code I am interested to help you. I just a beginner mapper but I can help with the maps. I do not have much time in my hands but I can sure help to create prefabs, details, hints and/or scripts.
Ill give ya a warning saying now that if you do get access to the code, there will be numerous people sucking up… kiss
Im not interested obv, could only change rocket speeds in Q3 \o/…
But, aye, packs looking good… but, this is a prime example what I mean from a thread on the teams… This is going to be a 3 map campaign which lets Americans v Japs. Theres another thing similar which changes the Axis to Zombies (Resurrection) which, if it had 3 maps instead of 1 and a nice cleaning up of everything (Details, Lighting etc) would’ve went nicely in a community release addon type thingy.
Interesting to note you don’t actually NEED the source code if you want to just do a graphics / mod / resources mod.
Might be worth looking into here.

Think’s he working on a Q3 project atm, but i’m sure if u want i quick make over he would point ya in the right direction.(If the source dont come…)
Having just re-read my own comment, I might consider doing a LotR mod, although I fear the skins themselves are beyond me…
