Lmao RIP looks like I wont be able to get the Obsidian and elite cases if the Containment War Update really does come out tomorrow. I took about a month long break (since phoenix came out) and I come hear of this news of this update and the items you can get - and guess what? I’m at 41K credits since I never purchased Phoenix. And lmao I don’t have the time to get 9K more credits. I have and hour to get up to 50K and I’m out of missions </3 Guess I give up for now 
:’( So I’ll just get a free Phoenix while keeping 41K. RIPerino. All I wanted was an elite case without paying $ I hope you guys had more luck than me!

There is a chance that the Containment Wars Update won’t come out on time. They haven’t posted a maintenance date/time which means they’re probably experiencing technical difficulties.
Anyways, you’re not missing out on much. While the elite cases are nice the card is merely the KE81 (Hochfir (KE), Selbstadt .40 (80), and Beckhill Combat Knife (1)). It’s a decent loadout but most people prefer C (KEK-10) and CR (Crotzni) type loadouts.

As for me, I already have the Obsidian’s exact loadout itself in Bronze and Silver.
Reminds me of the time I got the exact same loadout for Red Eye 4 times in Bronze. RNGesus is a fickle gift giver.

To be honest I think getting the merc for free is better. The obsidian card is not the best loadout and the elite cases are a huge gamble. What if you get mercs you don’t have from the cases? What about a complete trash card? I got Phoenix day one cuz I always have creds saved up and I’m happy I’m getting the free swag but if I was in your position I would much rather prefer the free merc 
then you can save up for another merc!

The obsidian and elite cases is probably better value though. Although either option is awesome. I’m lucky enough to own all the mercs except for rhino…Saying that I’ll probably get 2 cobalts for rhino tomorrow so I’ll have to buy him as well…
