If you start building an overheat on the minigun and then stop firing, the heat effect remains on the barrels until you spin them again:
If you keep firing until the gun stops shooting by itself, the heat effect dissipates during the spin down, but if you stop shooting before reaching that point the visual effect stays on even though the accumulated heat does dissipate (i.e. the gun is “cold” when you start shooting again).
