RHINO Weakness?

(L3thalGho5t) #1

He is just to powerful. You are not going to win a gun fight against him. It takes several player to kill him and some will still die. What is his weakness? Sniper? Which only works in the open.

He needs to have a weakness. A easier way to kill him.

Thankfully not a lot of people own him, because if they did, it would be a game breaker for me.

His weakness is range and speed. Any merc mid+ range clears him out. He also has a passive global taunt, similar to Teemo from League of Legends. It makes people want to murder him.

Plenty of people own him, but he is so situational. Plus that passive global taunt… It really shuts him down.

lol no it does not take several players to kill him unless he’s standing on an aura healing station and you’re tickling him with bodyshots.

Aim for the head and don’t attempt to rush him if he’s guarding a room or sitting on a heal station or if you can hear the tell tale spinning up of the minigun behind a blind corner.

If you want ez mode, just play as Fragger and you can easily destroy him with m4 headshots and grenades if hes on an aura station. Remburg hs can 2 shot him or even 1 shot if hes lost a bit of health. That’s not even including Stoker and Thunder who will both be strong against him as well.

Rhinos strength is his point blank dps, not his health. He’s a glass cannon to be honest.

If you’re getting dominated by someone playing him, they’re either good, you’re playing stupidly or the other team is supporting him heavily. 95% of people I see trying to use him are trash tier though so I wouldn’t worry too much.

Your right most of the time when i face him his team is heavily helping him. Which makes him very difficult to cross.

Long range weapons like snipers can take him out pretty easily, explosive based classes are also pretty effective since he’s slow. Even sparks reviver can take him out. Just don’t attack him head on since his minigun is very damaging and he’s designed to be very powerful if you attack him head on.

Exactly, in which case you can’t say ‘hes op’ because you’re effectively taking on him + whatever medics that are feeding him. He just becomes a conduit for good teamwork.

If Rhino has 1-2 medics by his side, this usually attracts at least 1-2 noobs that hide behind him and steal some kills while they are relatively safe. So there are 2-5 people in the same spot. Just push the other flank if he has so much support. Rhino is so situational, he usually can’t cover all sides.
If he doesn’t have that much support, it should not be a problem to take him out, if you have any kind of explosives with you.

Fragger and Nader eat Rhino’s for breakfast, it’s why they’re endangered in Dirty Bomb.

(KattiValk) #9

Fragger insta-nades makes medics run for cover (if they didn’t die from the blast) and blows up Aura stations. Luckily, Rhino is very bad at running away after his life lines.

(Dr_Fumbles) #10

I see people cry about Rhino all the time. I’ve never, ever, ever, ever (not a stutter!) had a problem killing Rhino. Just shoot him in the head. Easy peasy.

(XavienX) #11

Even if you stand far enough and standing still, his minigun can barely hit you and you can just deliver headshots with rifles or smg’s, but yea, sniper is most affective since he’s a big target and he moves slow.

When you can’t get your vasilli to take him out, a nader works really well too.

I once had a game as Terminal attackers and the defending team had a rhino supported by an aura and sparks. So i switched to Nader and just bombed the corner he was in with direct nades to his face, not only taking out the rhino, but also destroying all the deployables around him and made it my mission to keep the rhino shut down all game.

This guy was using the card with fast spin up and unshakeable, yet my nades absolutely destroyed him with direct hits, he barely got any kills from that moment and i’ve kiled him about 6 or 7 times that game and we won in the end. Plus our vas player got him a few times aswell when he was in the open. The nades also destroy anything that wants to come close to him so my team had it easy duing the ‘clean up’ after the rhino was dead.

This is what i am talking about, you had to switch charteers to beat him. What other merc do you have to have a certain merc to beat them?

(Ottah) #14

I switched because it made the most sense for given situation and give my team the advantage, i dont think that is a bad thing in a class based game. (rock, paper, scissors)

Infact i do it all the time if it can provide an advantage, i look at my team, the enemy team as a whole and not so much on the individual mercs, and judge from there what we need, depending on the situation.

You can kill Rhino with literally any merc, it’s just easier with explosives because he’s big and slow. Fast mercs can use their speed (if you are in close as a fast merc with a shotgun then run circles around him while blasting him, hard for him to track and shotguns will hurt even someone with 200 HP a lot) and anyone can stay a distance away where his minigun is incredibly inaccurate and or just go for headshots. He’s slow and fat, hitting him is freaking easy. The problem is you are obviously just playing to his advantage and not yours.
