Rhino.. Plzerino Nerf

Okay, so I’ve played a few games against Rhino. He is undoubtedly the most powerful of all the characters, being able to near one shot at all distances. He has double the average health, and slightly slower move speed. Thats the problem. When I first started playing, I expected him to be tanky and powerful, but not nearly as fast as he is. I feel is movement speed should be HALF the regular, at 200. This would make him a lot slower to battle, and make him the big worry. It won’t be like he’s a regular merc, but instead a big threat that is rare to see. He should also have a long start up and down on his minigun, taking him a second of usage before firing, and a second after to be able to switch. This makes it a preemptive thing. As Rhino, you have to know when to start firing, and when to get ready. I also suggest him not being able to move while using it, making him the slow and sluggish tank he seems to be. As of now, he can hop in a room and wipe it with little damage to himself. That is too good, and he should be reduced to be an immobile tank. Continuing the notion of this, he has little counter right now than a team ambush, a really good push, or another rhino. I feel the hitbox on his head should increase, making him an easy pick for a sniper. Most classes have counters, but he doesn’t right now. Making him slow and easy to hit for snipers would make him a player you have to play pathway defense in, and not a super agressive player as he is now. I’d also reccomend with these changes further increasing his health to 300 or higher, just to make him even tankier. I don’t know about anyone else, but i see him as a megatank, and not a lightweight runner.

He has plenty of counters as pointed out in the other Rhino thread. I bought him and rarely play him because…that slot on the team is usually better spent on a different merc. He’s fun to pull out once in awhile but I don’t understand these threads calling for a nerf. I would need him to be buffed to play him regularly.

Rhino is not as strong as people think, sure you cant just have your entire team run at him guns ablazing thats literally just giving rhino what he wants, have a fragger throw grenade or 2 at him and boom he is eather dead or killed with a couple pot shots, or just stand far away and kill him from a distance, he is slow and you can easily land headshots on him, same as a heavy in TF2 you dont just run at a heavy and expect to survive you need flank him or kill him from a distance or use teamwork to take him down

I’ve never had a problem against a rhino unless he’s on a medic station. His head is so easy to hit from any distance.

U lost me at:

then u lost me second time:

then you blow me away with:

“I feel is movement speed should be HALF the regular, at 200”

Better yet, he should be rooted in the place he spawns.

He only got 1 ability, he should have same speed as Proxy to compensate!

They could make it were the Minigun has ammo supply that can run out or make it overheat fast cause the smart ppl who play as rino hang out in building so makes head shots hard as they just sit there fat ass on auras heal station that is worse than having a medic on heavy in tf2 but if you can shot him a distance he is easy but only dumb ppl play rino by himself in open area

I tried him today, from midrange, his minigun can’t do shit. Shotgun and pistol? Nope, you need to strafe while using those kind of weapons, but Rhino is a slowpoke.

Rhino absolutely cannot “one shot at all distances.” He is the most range limited of any character in the game as his guns are all most effective within shotgun range and he is the slowest character, unlike others who use shotguns. I will calmly face any Rhino head on given a full hallways worth of distance.

Saying he doesn’t have many counters other than another Rhino or an entire team push is completely incorrect as well. Nader or Fragger can take him and any medic assistance out with their explosives. Skyhammer can bring the pain rain. Whatever, just blow him up or aim at his head, easy peasy.

Please do not make nerf threads if you do not know what you are talking about (and you clearly do not based on what I have mentioned), it only harms the game.
