maybe the .5% so it’s completely on par with the lightest assault rifles…but other than that I would say not really.

I’m not this guy, but I can answer : Sparks is a major annoyance if played right for several reasons.
- If you want to get rid of a good sparks, you must absolutely surprise her or one-shot her. Else, she will run away and toss medpacks at her feet, and become extremely tedious to kill thank to the instant self healing. Her self sustain is just superior to any other medic. With this coulped with the highest speed in game, you’ll likely not be able to get rid of her once she’s fleeing.
- Revives from the other side of the map are a pain to deal with. Fighting a good sparks absolutely requires you to kill your targets as soon as they are downed if you can’t get rid of the Sparks first.
- While her main flaw is supposed to not be able to sustain the team in health, in Ranked her major flaw is totally cancelled due to friendly fire. If she needs to heal a target low on health, she will just kill it and revive it, very fast.
- REVIVR is able to one shot all mercs with an health pool below 130 hp. Given how Snipers can wreck a whole push in competitive, this makes Sparks an incredible powerhouse as well as an extremely good medic. Of course there’s a falloff mechanic, but this does not harm her that much.
Sparks one of the main examples of a merc where efficiency increases exponentially with its users’s skill. Her skill ceiling is incredibly high, so are her advantages once you master her, pretty much like RedEye. When a good Sparks joins a game, she becomes an absolute priority target that you’ll have a lot of trouble to get rif of : she’s just too efficient in skilled hands. It’s a good exemple why too much “high skill - high reward” can be negative for game balance. All those perks makes Sparks one of the main bans in competitive cups along with Thunder and RedEye.
This is why, before thinking about any buff, Sparks should probably get reviewed on several points :
- Her REVIVR probably shouldn’t revive as fast depending of how far she is from her target. Long range revive should probably mean longer revive animation in order to give more time to counter it.
- Her self healing should absolutely not be instant. It should regenerate her over 0.8s and be cancellable with gunfire like Sawbonez’s medpacks.
- She shouldn’t be able to overcome her main flaw in ranked by killing and reviving targets that easly : REVIVR should probably not be able to kill allies, forcing her to switch to her primary to do her business. It won’t fix the whole issue, but at least she’ll take more time to do it.
@Eox the term Cancer that are meant in the context are the ones that like proxy or vasilli:
cancer parasitic in nature, doesnt help the host at all.
Cancer =/= something very useful to the team yet hard to kill.
In the context of a community figure that recently died of cancer, nerds with an ounce of respect should stop using this word in game balance discussions.
