This is an old problem, but a quick search for threads referencing this are either ancient or have strayed off-topic, so here’s a fresh clean new one.
So the main issue is that reviving whilst standing or on-the-move is very inconsistent (read: no confidence that the revive, which was the players intention, will occur), my three suggestions for why this might be are:
-
The revive range is too small - This seems like the easiest one to blame, probably as it’s the first one that comes to mind, but it may just be concealing the other two.
-
The revive angle is too small - By this I mean if you look at your feet the revive works (good), if you look straight ahead the revive doesn’t work (understandable I guess), but if you look down at an angle the revive also doesn’t work (not good), there is not enough time to stand still, look at your feet, wait forever (see 3 below), so I think the angle should be more forgiving, maybe a 30-40 degree downward glance should be enough, whereas currently it feels like 60 degrees or more is needed.
-
The revive action is too late - By this I mean when you release the revive key there is an animation time where the arms are extended and the actual revive action occurs at the end of the animation, what about having the successful revive be triggered precisely when the key is released, but the recipient isn’t aware that they’ve been successfully revived until the “normal” time in the animation, so basically increase the time after being revived before the “I’ve been revived” animation plays, and decrease the time after releasing the revive key that the “revive has been successful” action is triggered.
