Revive immunity

(avidCow) #21

Any actions except moving should cancel immunity. Why it doesn’t already… mind blown.

Make it so that to revive people you have to fully charge them; all the time. Balance this with making the revived always have full health, but remove the immunity. Also, you should be able to sprint and revive at the same time.

as far as i know this is how it currently works.

if proxy can indeed defuse with immunity on, this is a bug and will surely be fixed

I just wish my teammates actually knew about the revive immunity. Most of them instantly start shooting when they get up just to die again and then blame the medics.

Immunity is very weird yeah. Either get rid of that or put a cooldown on ressing somebody after their first ress so they cant just get chain ressed.

(Eddie) #26

Yeah the immunity is just annoying

Then theres also some wise-ass people saying ‘‘Shoot the medics’’ Quite hard if they’re behind a corner & a guy that’s being revived 24/7. Also if u do run after them they blast ur head off with their shotgun or just run like hell.

There has to be a nerf for the Defib. Either a slower revive (5 sec recharge) or just the 2 second godmode off when ppl get revived.

Just remove /god.

One nice mechanic that could be introduced is that if you die in less than 5-8(to be balanced) seconds since your last revive, it’s instagib so even if medic resurrects his teammate, his teammate has ONE more chance to do the job, if he won’t then you’re going to most likely take him out and there’s no revive train to come.
In this case Immunity cover could stay, but it should cancel out instantly on movement, also it should be OBVIOUS to see when did the immunity end, so instead of shield above head, make enemy illuminate red light as if he was under TF2 Ubercharge which turns off as soon as you do any action.

I’m not sure about this one, I think it’ll lead to a lot of people hiding for those 5-8 seconds until they’re safe. I’d rather make gibbing easier, either to begin with or after they’ve gone down recently.

Revive invulnerability has been the core mechanics of ET games for 10+ years, don’t see the reason to change it just because some people think it’s hard to play around it. Game rules are not there to change every time someone gets pissed off, they are there for balance reasons, to make the game what it is. Change it and you will have to change a stream of other things and it will no longer be the same game. Just be smart and think how to beat it.

(Ghosthree3) #31

I didn’t bring it up because I’m pissed off, I brought it up because I believe it to be a balance concern. Though it is not the same now as it was.

If I was to bring up everything I get pissed off at the front page would be full.
I think the shield should just go. It’s enough to have the option of an instant revive at your disposal in my opinion.

I think reviving teammates in general should be saved for when the perimeter is secure, even with medics. If you go for an in-combat revive, there should be a trade-off (i.e. you need to consider whether it’s worth the risk). As it stands, you instantly gain a free meat shield plus additional firepower back into the fight.
As I was reading I saw this and felt the same way.

It seems the devs noticed this and due to it added Sparks for that very risk factor. If they do feel there is an imbalance with the other revive methods they now can fix it easily.

Maybe give only the rev gun a shield? Maybe eliminate paddles being able to rev while under fire? (Just thinking out loud)

Either way the devs have options at their disposal.

NO SHIELD AT ALL AMIRIGHTGUYS?
