That;s why I think I’d be good - I hate everyone equally
Review Field
LoL nice example.
but I think HeirPie is the only one that can be classified as a Neotic fanrager
@Neotic well then nothing stops him from making 10 users and pimp your maps
@Gerbil well I hate you too
lol
Seriously though, multiple login with a username could be a problem… how many times I have seen a shareware author review his own software giving himself 10/10 … ? I stopped counting. The worst is when you get the software and see it’s a total piece of crapware…
I don’t think people should be stopped from voting/reviewing but I do think a great care should be done to limit, as much as possible, those kind of idiots form spoiling the scene with false reviews.
huh… that was my 2… buck’s worth
One of the main problems of map review sites is getting people to go there!
One way around this might be to advertise it in your map loading text, or in-game (say, a message every 5 minutes to everyone’s console).
I might give that a go in future maps actually, once it’s got a bit more content.
hmmm… not sure about that… I know that I hate being spammed by messages on a map when I play… Whatever the message, if it’s not 100% related to what’s happening in the game, I just hate that.
Well, ok, maybe loading screen - only problem there is you have bugger all space.
Maybe just posting stuff up once at start of round would be ok - I’m going to have to do that in helmsdeep anyway to explain how patrol points work for all the people that can’t be arsed to read the README (you wouldn’t believe how many people bitch that the cabinets don’t work ;))
Hi!
Check out North pole. Drakir and I (Well, it was his idea actually) included book-stands. When the player walks up to it, the information is displayed on his/her screen. And only on that player’s screen!
Northpole Sourcefile and script available at http://www.sikstrom.nu/rikard/. Click “Archive”.
Apropos of Drakir: He has just updated his links-page with more sites (eg texture sites). And I guess you have all seen his new Team Fortress-style “Steelplant”.

ah good old trigger targeting a target_print.
GOD I love target prints. If you don’t know what I’m on about, search the forums for the updated entity.def file.
Grab it and love it!
