Maybe Jackal is the name of the organization that secretly spies on the mercenaries’ bloodthirsty adventures. You know, using some sort of nano-drone camera, codename: DemoRecSpectator.

The more I read the above, the more I believe the conspiracy to be true!

I think it’ll be special “contract” missions for each new faction, with special rewards like skins, cards, and gun tags.

A faction is basically a lore thing. What it will effectively do in the game is change the UI and rename “Attackers” to “Jackals” and “Defenders” to a not yet revealed faction name.

Not a big fan of factions in a game where the mercs remain the same.
In Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory you had different voice commands and appearence depending on which side you were while the classes’ abilities remained more or less the same. Also the weapons were slightly different too.

Great with more texture and all, but this was a disappointment. But I guess if you have to post something new each day about the next patch for the next two weeks, you gotta stretch it a little.

Hey, anyone read that post I made a while back about the theory on DB’s lore. The one were I basically said that corporations are using post-disaster London as a testing ground for new technologies while simultaneously carrying out operations to steal research data from rival corps?

Starting to look like more than just a theory. XD

EDIT: Gonna guess the update is next week. Suspect the 22nd or 23rd but maybe earlier than that.

I’ll be disappointed if they go with something that trivial… Plus the CDA is supposed to be an official agency, not a bunch of murderous hired thugs :wink:

EDIT: Should have read the rest of the forums first :frowning: So color me disappointed, unless we start seeing faction-specific skins. Or maybe the backstory will explain why the CDA is resorting to mercs as opposed to legit military or law enforcement…?
