Instead of just being able to see a video of the opponents last turn and my current turn, could there be an option to see the entire match? No clue about how much data or bandwidth would be required. May have lots of UI concerns as well.
Request for movie of entire match
the packet of info for the replay could very, very small, just the moves. Your tablet (or whatev) then generates the replay movie. you could post to youtube and stuff, which would a) be very cool to see what other people do and b) would generate a lot more interest in Rad. Starcraft 2 is all over youtube, for example…
Great idea!! I often forget if my enemy has used his special ability, or how many of each, especially when they take a long time to send their turn
@kinonez21: I agree (thats one thing I would do with the ability) but I was informed on a similar matter that “experienced” players can keep track of that.
@ciakgb: Apple restricts developers from capturing a screen video from an iPad. An app can capture itself but you can’t get an app that captures arbitrary screen video into the App Store. Past attempts have been removed. They killed Kenny.
IF all other methods failed, chess shows us the way. You need simply to identify each square, which I’m sure there is an internal method for doing, then I’m talking a tiny packet (we call it a .pgn file in chess) which would be enhanced by the program. If you had to, sic Fireteam on a site that would then allow games to be viewed.
Again, Starcraft 2 manages…with way way more data.

After thinking about it, I fully agree that the data transfer is small per turn. What’s the Fireteam reference?
I mean I usually keep track on most matches, expecially if I am playing against a friend or a strong opponent, but when you are playing 20 matches at the same time, and their is someone that answers every 4 or 5 days and you have been playing for 11 turns, ypunare more likely to loose track, I’m not saying it’s imposible, but the video would simplify the job as well as you could see the whole match at the end, which would be nice as well
It’s part of the whole Splash Damage / Warchest / Fireteam / Unity vertically integrated family thingamabob.
…and supposedly the folks that handle the multi. I’ve said before they do a great job keeping the servers up and running, but could really up thier game (so to speak) with the interface, chat, replays, that sort of thing.
Positive – the expire patch is great, getting the coins is really great!!!
