Reporting toxic players?

(Draco) #1

i’ve always wondered if there’s a way to report toxic players, and lately i’ve been encountering various of that kind of players, but there’s no option to report this kind of behaviour ingame, so, there’s a way to do it? (or at least a future plan to add an option for that)

best regards

You could maybe simply ignore them? Everyone is toxic at some point.

Report them for what, exactly? Being rude? If it’s harassment and people are being over the top, racist, or whatever else, then I imagine you can submit a ticket through usual Nexon submit a ticket process here. Having never actually reported someone for it, I have no idea if these are acted on or how if so. Or even if that’s their intended purpose of “report abuse”.

…That said. Online gaming isn’t exactly where people go to collect hugs. Not everyone is nice, some people are pretty salty, and others enjoy trolling. Ignore it and they’ll generally go away.

its useless to report toxic people in online shooters, the moment you ban said toxic people, you will lose half your playerbase, online shooters have sadly one of the most toxic communities in online gaming.

(Icecoal) #5

Try mobas, db’s community is pretty tame. But a report option for extreme toxicity wouldn’t do harm.

tab, right click, mute

(Grave_Knight) #7

Not true. Toxic players make up a very small fraction of the community, they just make up half of the vocal community. Mind you, this isn’t me calling for outright bans on them, but rather suspensions. If you can’t follow the one definite rule of Dirty Bomb (Don’t Be A Dick) than you can sit in time out for the next hour, two hours, five hours, ten hours, 20 hours, two days, week, and so on…

generally i just ignore them, but sometimes they’re too much toxic and i feel “bad” of doing nothing for improving the ingame experience for everyone.

I know the online shooter have the most toxic communities, and for this i’ve always wondered how can we improve this, i just dont like to stay on my seat and watch the toxic guys growing and growing. Like icecoal said, a report option for extreme toxicity could help a bit more if its implemented in a correct way. Not necesary bans, but maybe some suspensions or restrictions that increase for each approved report (with enough evidence, not just reporting)

(i apologize if something is written incorrectly, english isn’t my native language, but i’m trying to improve it as much as i can!)

If it’s a single player, a vote kick might work. propably not but worth a shot.

Also there is a report function (hold Tab, right click report player) it only has the options for cheating and offensive name currently. Maybe that can be repurposed in extreme cases?

But I agree lately there seems to be an increase in questionable manners ingame including the nonsensical rage shuffle/kick vote.

Reporting toxic players is pretty toxic. I’m afraid I’m gonna have to report you :*

I think they’re fun, not in the way that the things they say would be fun but the actual interaction. I don’t know, maybe I’m in the minority who feels like it’s more so their way in dry humor than being assholes when they tell you to “learn to aim fucking asshole” so I usually aim to laugh with them, not at them. Sometimes they even end up being pretty cool too by the end of the match.

Or second choice, I ignore them, wouldn’t be an online fps if few of them wouldn’t come up once in a while

(watsyurdeal) #14

I do think trolling or toxicity should be something to be considered, especially when it’s detrimental to the team.

(Sinee) #15

Pretty much this. Trash talking and rude people, filthy inappropriate shit said, kind of comes with the territory when you’re online, period. People will always say shit they’d never say IRL. And they’d say it to you online and never would say it IRL.

The best thing you can do is not give them the satisfaction of a response; mute them. I believe it works for voice and chat. It’s hard to resist the temptation not to fire back, but there’s not really much else you can do. Thicker skin, patience, and being levelheaded enough to mute them will do the trick.

Personally, I love flamers and harassing them back. It gives me tingles to fire back in trash talk then own them.

(Mrarauzz) #16

I usually just tell them they are being rude and it’s uncalled for…that doesn’t usually work out lol

(banteringTurnip) #17

I really wish this was a thing, was enjoying myself with some buds in a game then this lvl 82 comes in trolling midgame , yelling in the mic, mutliple vote kicks. Just made a fun match very unenjoyable. O well /end rant hope that dude gets laid some day.

(Ctrix) #18

If someone yells at you for sucking, just play better than them

(LoliGagging) #19

just say something random back.

Drama Bomb, lets talk about hurt feelings. Players in game say stuff that hurt :(. How old are you Jesus fucking Christ. How easy is it to not get hurt by what someone says, pretty fucking damn easy. A single moment of adult life would make you realize that. Just play the game and if you really care talk shit back and trash them in a 5v5. Move on, you’re playing an FPS.
