Reporting people for just being rude.

Hey all,
this is my first time dabbling in the realms of forums so bear with me. Today I was in a match and this guy was just abusing everyone in the lobby with anything from racial slurs to plain insults and I thought this isn’t what I want lobbies to be like in DB so I went to report him. However the only choices are to report the because their name is rude or because they’re cheating, so does anyone know what report I would put that under or whether there is already something in place to deal with this?

Yup, you can report them through the Nexon support : support.dirtybomb.nexon.net

I had to report one guy once because he was constantly harassing a whole server by himself with constant insults. Since then I never saw that guy again, so I guess the support is efficient. :stuck_out_tongue:

You’ll have to give proofs that the user was breaking the rules though.

For some reason I’ve noticed a bunch of people like that lately, to the point I think this is really becoming a problem. Some people just look like they play to become angry.

I think a report function in game for “bad behaviour” would be nice to start. And when someone gets reported much more than the average, show him a warning.

That’s a good idea because I chose to play DB as my first FPS game over the likes of CS-GO not only because the concept and execution of it are awesome but because the community was better, but now it’s just full of always angry, negative people

Personally I don’t see the problem. I mean, yeah, they might be saying rude things or insulting you, but how does that offend anyone? They’re just a voice in an online game; a voice that you can mute. Just ignore them and move on. Why waste your time reporting someone just because they’re a bit toxic?

Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind if a small punishment was dealt out, but if people get reported for cursing at someone else once or twice, and actually get punished, that’s just stupid. Trolling back and forth or putting on an insulting persona is actually fun for some people. Hell, I’ve had people add me because we insulted each other in the dumbest ways and it was all in good fun.

Obviously I’m not talking about going completely over the top with racial slurs constantly and stuff like that, but it’s an online game, what do you expect? :smiley:

But yes. Mute is your friend. This is the internet. This is also an FPS. You should expect a certain degree of reprehensible trash.

It’s sort of okay when people flare up and call names. Obviously, it’s not very friendly, but that’s just how people can get when they’re emotionally invested and it all goes to hell time and time again.

Racial/homophobic slurs should be rewarded with a lifetime ban, however. I firmly believe that people that utter these slurs should know that there is no place for them in this society. GM’s have the power to discipline these kids in areas where their parents didn’t, by taking away their toys. In this case; the game.

Frankly, I can’t wait for a future where minors have to register a parent, and they are sent excerpts when the kid’s been naughty. Perhaps we’ll be able to save this civilization after all.
