Reporting abusive players possible?

Is there a way to report players for being abusive/racist ect. Or is it pointless to report. Normaly i dont give a @#$% what people say because i have thick skin and not offended by mutch, but some times some one goes way over the line and needs to be reported and repremanded some how.

From the in game player list, when you right click on a player’s name and select report (same process if you notice someone cheating), doesn’t it have a report for offensive behavior option?

There’s only two options: offensive names and cheating.

You’d think there’d be one for bad behavior considering how frustrating DB can get.

There should be at least some method of curtailing anti-social behaviour. Social toxicity shouldn’t be tolerated in any way.

You can report abusive players like cheaters in game. There’s an option for that in the in game report system.

Even better than the report button, is the mute button. It requires the same amount of effort and actually works.

i use mute all the time to silence that vasilli kid who kept getting rekt and nobody want to revive him

From the stuff we have seen, I don’t think SD would really want to sit in a pile of reports for bad medics, teabagging, excessive taunts, etc. I mean, they can’t really fire the bad medics can they.

I do, however, understand that sometimes people deserve getting reported due to aggressive or obscene behavior if they go over. But that rarely happens (relatively, of course).

I remember the last time someone asked how to report a player for harassment. It ended with pages of insults, eventually resulting in most of the steam forum mains being banned.

This game definitely needs a better system to handle harassment. People shouldn’t have to resort to muting players in a game who’s motto is literally “Don’t be a dick.”

Like others have said, there are issues with having to deal with false reports, but it seems worth it to have a healthy, supportive community.

Would be nice to have a report feture that goes to say trust worthy group of vlounteers picked by sd(similar to the mods here) that can filter out the false reports and forward the legit ones to sd. Win win sd doesnt have to deal with false reports and the aholes can be put in check withs a temp ban or something. And the in game mods could get a few credits for there time

people not abusing power is another

the thing is with mods in the forum, they are not directly related to the game itself
while in the game, you could have banned people then they get penalized for actually a stupid reason. For example:

a guy type in the chat: Man i hate these proxy

some guy as an admin in the game could have spin it as sexist or hate speech

“but, SD could have chosen the right people!”

from what i learn in my life up until now, you cant predict people’s head on these issues
Banning a player that spends money on your game for talking smack in a game is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. Its a game, treat it like one and grow up.
