i just reported a hacker (i wont name them) i was just wondering what the timescale is from the time you report them ingame to a resulting Ban, i understand there is investigations etc.
reporting a hacker
I don’t think SD has ever mentioned when they banned anyone in game, and I honestly have no clue how long it would take them.
I suppose it would depend on the type of hack, if it was blatantly obvious then it would make sense for it to happen quickly, especially after SD gets flooded with reports for them.
It would be professionally amazing if we received a note back with further information about whats happening with the reported player, but i guess that’s too much to expect.

I cant find the post, but either miss murder or raziel stated that they do not disclose information pertaining to a ban claim to the public. any repremands or bans stay internal with in the company, enless the player shows himself and throws a fit on social media
FOUND IT!!!
The post i was refering to read raziels last post in thread nefore she closed it
I might be missing the reason, but I’m wondering why SD is so against confirming they banned someone. It would greatly motivate people to report hackers, since a lot of them think SD doesn’t even bother looking at reports.
Hell, even just a “we banned 15 cheaters this week!” would be good enough to motivate people. They don’t have to announce “starrysock was banned! Die, hacker scum!!!” to show players that they’ve made a difference.
Generally takes a month or more. You tend to see the same cheaters running around for around a month before they vanish.
the Anti-Cheat is Reactive right?
maybe they dont want to go 19 patch per month to battle geeks making softwares 19 time per month.
what about a Tempban system, say a suspected hacker got say…15 reports against there name, that they receive a Tempban message “sorry your account has been reported as a suspected violation and as a result you are under investigation” then that said player is put on a higher urgency, i dont think we as the community should know who or how many have been banned, as it’s almost like name & shaming your basically advertising the game had a lot of hackers for that period, in the long run it could damage the games Rep

While this idea is nice, I will admit I have reported a few players who could have possibly been aiming gods/lagging. It also creates a possibility for abuse, some guy could make like 15 accounts to temp ban anyone he wants.
this is pretty much kills newbies that actually talented on aiming.
and veterans
(those kids will just click report every match because i keep sniping them with Caulden)
how can you tell the difference between a good skilled player and a cheater anyway, i mean a level 3 could be a frigging pro player and be mistaken for cheating anyway, are we meant to report people WE think or feel are cheating and let EAC do it’s thing and search for scripts etc???
A level 3 is not likely to know the layout of the maps. If they are consistently predicting where you will be coming from and lining up shots that make no sense the moment they round a corner, then it becomes rather obvious what is going on.
