Both can be changed at the click of a button, so hardly a deterrent.
Report Your Hackers Thread...
The sad part is that no such actions will never be taken by SD or Nexon (Nexon doesn’t even care and they never will). They will just never go after anyone affecting the game play. Also, keep in mind some of us spent $120 (some even more I heard) and most of the time we can’t even get in the game because of cheaters. I mean, that’s disturbing. Shows how uninterested the company is to provide the customer with what he/she paid for.
“our anti-cheat is still only in logging/testing mode” It shouldn’t be in any modes such as that one. I mean, the engine this game is based on is how many YEARS old? It should be ready by now and fully working to keep the paying customers playing, testing, forming teams, practicing, or just having fun. I’m not even mentioning the other ones that paid less but paid nonetheless. It’s not about the money. It’s about the trust WE put into SD with this game based on ET/RTCW/QW and so on. So far, we’ve been lied to and many of the founders are not even interested anymore. That’s really, really sad.
I do hope you realise that it’s more because of how the actual game has turned out / is turning out rather than there being cheaters and what actions that may or may not be taken against them.
Speaking of actions, some solutions that I’ve found pretty successful are those who randomly take screenshots of the game and uploads them. Granted most of these have been developed by a third party but they did do pretty well. The only downside would be that some screenshots turned out all black because of how the permissions of the OS was set. So in some rare cases a legit player would be called cheater because of this so it’s definately not a perfect solution.
For DB it could work something like this: Screenshots are randomly taken, in order not to screw up the bandwidth while playing the screenshots are uploaded when you start the launcher and the screenshots are, in some magical way, hidden from the user in order to prevent them being tampered with. If enough screenshots turns out “black” or are being marked “suspicious” maybe it could record a 30 seconds random clip instead? Seeing how incredible Shadowplay from Nvidia is I’m sure this could be done without impacting performance in any significant or noticeable way. All screenshots and clips could be uploaded to like a global DB service which could be accessed through the launcher or ingame in a browser, similar to the Steam ingame one.
Now, how these are going to be judged and by whom I have absolutely no idea…
As some people have already mentioned, I am all for a system similar to the Overwatch in CS:GO.
Yes, some of them did even before there were blatant cheaters. That fact is even more disturbing.
Some of the cheaters were playing using a VPN, they were bragging about it.
If any video is going to be recorded of users under suspicion of cheating it should be of their kills (and the moments leading to it), not ‘random’
Guys seriously? I’m trying to help you and show you proof of someone hacking so you can maintain a decent community in Dirty Bomb and I get a copy-right strike for my efforts on an unlisted video from Nexon. How are we supposed to help you those American Muppets are in charge? No disrespect total actual american citizens but you companies are the ****ing worst!
If you feel you’ve been unjustly hit by a warning, please email NDAB@Splashdamage.com explaining the situation.
We do really appreciate the videos at this stage but please make sure any videos of hacking are unlisted/private otherwise you will be breaching the NDA.
Public youtube videos of hackers at this stage (with zero anti-cheat) are going to be more damaging than the hackers themselves.

I will definitely do this. You should probably copy this message and put it at the top of the thread so others know what to do when something like this happens to them.
Appreciate the speedy response.
It was probably one on the Nexon minions misinterpreting a hacker report as an NDA breach, someone clicked the wrong button.
I will gonna leave this here.
Damn, I need to find some hobby :
Send it directly to the email Smooth gave, last time I posted in here a hacker video I got a strike from Nexon on my youtube account:
NDAB@Splashdamage.com
Has anyone tried joining their team and running in front all the time? Since no friendly fire, the bullets would probably be blocked? Or not?
Can’t work of course if he’s invisible.

Well, clip is not on my account but on the hackers account I believe. Nonetheless I will send it to Smooth.

From 46th second you can see that he don’t need to move at all. He can kill you from another side of the map.
I’m wondering if it is worth making a Youtube channel or maybe something more obscure for simply uploading videos of hackers and tell Nexon about it? Save us a lot of hassle from the over-zealousness.
I’ve spoken with Critalix and he has basically confirmed that there was a bit of over-zealousness/unknowledgeable checkers going on and that it’s definitely still fine to post these as unlisted and he’ll make sure the right people get fired… I mean… told not to screw up again.
I’ve also been informed that they’re going to get these “unstriked” if that is possible (sorry I’m not a YouTube pro).
