Report for verbal abuse?

Why isn’t there an option to report someone for verbally abusing others?
I just joined a stopwatch game on Bridge and enemy team was already at the gate with the EV so I picked Arty and destroyed EV and just jumped straight to the first place on team… wow… so then when they were at the last stage of game I was trying to def drug samples with Bushwhacker but I was all alone in the building from my team, they were maybe trying to spawncamp/fraghun I don’t know and the enemy had so easy game and i just stated that team is so bad… so then next game I was again on the same team with 1 of the guys and he started shittalking me so hard, just beacause I had the lowest score like 5 mins into the game, I was playing Fragger ofc it’s not the easiest to get better score then engineers and supports on a map like Underground…

I asked why is it a problem then I have lover score with an assault than engineers and supports and then he said that because shittalkers should be first on scoreboard… my shittalking was like “this team is so bad”… and then I didn’t say anything else… then he said I must be a Trump supporter because so much shit fall out of my mouth and… I told him I’m from EU and it’s EU server then called me a nazi… he was spamming votekick agains me all game telling teammates that i’m afk, and when vote failed called teammates dumbasses, then at half-time he said “gg fagboys” and quit…

There is a no naming and shaming policy here on the forum.
But I do agree that there should be a report function for serious heavy insulting.

Ok then I removed his profile, but I never understand this “no naming and shaming” stuff when it’s about people like this…

The entire situation wouldn’t exist if you hadn’t started it with ‘bad team’.

I often wonder what people like you are hoping to achieve when typing this.

(Yoma) #5

Its normal and i’ve seen way worse than this.

However, writing “bad team” is a thing i dislike aswell if someone write this, in most cases it just shows that hes too bad to do something by his own and wants to get carried. Naturally there are times when you think, that some people have no shred of brain if they do the same thing over and over again just to get killed the same way over and over again, but well, telling them that they’re bad wont help it.

PS:I usually vote kick people who write “bad team” to help them take their leave outta these “terrible” people.

There’s no reason to report people for talking shit. That’s just part of the game. It’s really not a big deal because you can mute the person if necessary. I mean, it’ an online game, what did you expect?

Not to mention that you were the one who instigated it.

Now the vote-kick abuse is a different story, but rarely does it ever work; people normally don’t get kicked for no reason even if someone keeps trying it.

There’s two kinds of people in this world: Those with shittalk and those who mute. You mute.

(Jostabeere) #8

Even though they might be abusive, they have a freedom of speech. They are allowed to say anything. And you’re free to mute them for that if it really insults you. That’s what I do with the rare nazi kids in this game. But general shittalk, who cares. I sometimes shittalk aswell. Ironical or serious, when I’m in a bad mood.

Here are people saying talking shit is a part of the game, and I’m like “really?”

I don’t remember anywhere in good sportsmanship where it says it’s typical to call the other team fags or something of that nature.

Keep that crap to yourself I say

I don’t remember buying games, setting up wins and bribe referees is good sportsmanship aswell. But professional sports are full of such things.

Drama Bomb alive and well.
Pouring resources to baby hurt feelings is not the direction we need to go. And quite honestly you’re playing a first person shooter, are we supposed to hold your hand and tell you everythings going to be alright? Grow some skin, how are you even hot-bothered by this?

Zero coping mechanisms. Snowflake generation. Always remember there will always be someone to hold your hand in life when mommys not nearby.

(frankopeti) #12

Guys just mute people!

(Icecoal) #13

Just mute them or grow a thicker skin. You probably take this way to personal. You can also troll back but that mostly hurts your team so just mute em and keep playin ! Less que que more pew pew baby !

People talk shit in EVERY game. This includes sports, video games, poker- anything. It’s not good sportsmanship, but just look past it and everything will be fine. Ignore it if you need to. Unlike sports where if it gets too excessive, then referees or umpires interfere, people can just mute others instead.

That’s just the reality. People will shit talk everywhere and anytime in life. No need to dwell on it; that’s how some get seriously injured or killed. Talk shit back if you really need to. Personally, I find that a waste of time, but actually fun in an online game

I think that these people are just looking for an argument and if you engage you cant really remove yourself from the situation in a good way, I think that Splash Damage should crack down on this hard so that it doesn’t just become part of the game.

“Don’t be a dick!”
That seems to be the basic rule of DB. We could definetly punish people for breaking it! o:)
Why not?

But noone ever set rules for this “Don’t be a dick!”, you know. Some people may think saying gg at the end of a stomp is a nice gesture, others, like me think it’s a dick move. Just an example.
I don’t think words like f u c k or s h i t (thx word filter) are verbal abuse while other people would like to see me burning in hell for using those 2.
The slogan is subjective in my eyes, since the guideline for “Don’t be a dick!” wasn’t set by SD or Nexon.
