Replacing Existing Weapons Tutorial

(KillerKind) #1

I’ve had a lot of peeps asking how to add new weapons to ET. Well, I’ve not had the time to actually add new weapons yet, but I have a quick and dirty method of replacing the stock weapons. I just wrote a quick tutorial on how it’s done, using the colt as an example. I know it may be a bit short and full of bad grammar, but I hope others will find enough information to start adding their own custom models to their mods.

Here’s the link - http://home.comcast.net/~msasykes/et-weapon-tut/

Although I’m no modeler/skinner I think it’s a very good tutorial.
Should be very helpful.

I think this tutorial should be made sticky, or the devs correct/write a better one as this is all ALOT of people have to go on

Are you using gmax, or 3dsmax?

The export function being greyed out, if you are using gmax, would mean that there are no formats that gmax can export to. You’ll need to install a md3 exporter plugin first.

If you are using 3dsmax, your installation probably went wrong. Reinstall.
