Replace Some C4 Objectives with Airstrike Beacon?

So, yeah recently I’ve just managed to listen to lots of in-game quotes. Which quite surprises me is there are folder named “Airstrike Pilot”, basically the voice of Jackal (maybe?) pilot informing that “Airstrike is incoming”

Which then gave me an idea.

Some objectives on OBJ maps like Trainyard, Terminal, and Dome has C4 objective that placed in open area like that Wall in terminal, Blocker Carriage on Trainyard, and AA Center (3rd objective) in Dome.

My idea is that instead of planting C4, how about changing it to “Setting up beacon to call Jackal airstrike”?

After you plant the beacon (and “Beacon have been set, protect/deny it!” voice plays), wait in the same duration as the C4, and then the “Airstrike incoming, take cover!” radio plays, Jackal jet plane cross the sky and drops the bomb in the location.

Or maybe in Trainyard only on 2nd objective, the attack version of the Jackal’s helicopter comes in and fire barrage of missiles to the carriage.

I think it would bring more variations than usual C4 objectives, but still functions the same.

It sounds very cool indeed, but I’d honestly prefer SD to just focus on improving and balancing the maps themselves (cough first objective on bridge cough).
Such visual effects can always be done later.

So the end result is the same? You still plant something and wait the same amount of time for it to complete the objective? What is the point then out of curiosity? Just visual effects?

Yeah, it’s just an idea for something that could arguably improve the variety in gameplay, but doesn’t actually change content. Just because the game has a lot of unaddressed bugs and balancing issues doesn’t mean good visual/content ideas should be ignored.

It sounds really awesome. But there are currently more important stuff that need fixing.
Bug fixing, map balancing and release of new maps/mercs seem more important to me than this. But after those stuff are dealt with I don’t see any reason of why not changing it

After Dockyard and Turtle are added after the bug fixes, optimization, and map changes, sure.

Well, speaking of Turtle, his supposed to be barricade ability is pretty useful though, at least, in my opinion

I mean Imagine your only entry get barricaded.

And he likely has the best weapons and most health (120-130 hp) of the Engineers to compensate for an ability that does not or primarily does not kill people.

Redeye has a smoke ability but some of the bolt rifles are arguably more powerful than some of his choices, like the PDP.

The bolt-action rifles also would by extension clash with his playstyle completely where he is meant to be in closer quarters (medium range), his weapons are indeed powerful enough for the range he’d be primarily in. I should clarify I suppose by what I mean, Turtle would likely get something like say the BR-16 as a primary option.

Yes but his playstyle is largely determined by his weapon choices. If he had bolt action rifles the smoke would be used to obscure long hallways and the rifle to hold down an area like Aimee.

I’d love to see a new weapon on Turtle. Even if it was a submachinegun with similar DPS to the kek and smg9 etc, maybe like the P90 from CS or something, I just dunno, would be nice to see something new in the game.

Soooo just a a visual change? pretty cool, but Splash Damage needs to work more on making their game playable.
