[Renderer] Unable to enable anti-aliasing in-game

(lambdacore) #1

Simple, right?
No anti-aliasing for me.

Seems like I’m the only one in the world that have the problem since I found nothing about it anywhere.

So I have a Geforce 470 GTX and I don’t have any anti-aliasing in the game.
I tried forcing it everywhere, tried multiple compatibilities in nHancer : nothing works.

The strange stuff is, on the character selection screen, the anti-aliasing clearly works.
But not when I start a level.

The way the game is designed, it’s unplayable without anti-aliasing, my brain/eyes are bleeding right now.

Hi there. We’ve been unable to reproduce this on the same card with the same drivers.

Make sure you are pressing ‘Apply’ in the video menu. Pressing Esc after making a change won’t save the setting.

If that’s not the cause, can you ensure you have deleted/removed the existing drivers before updating to new ones? There is an option you can tick in the Nvidia installer to do just this.

Let us know if this fixes the issue.

We’ve been unable to reproduce this and I’ve not heard back. I’m assuming complete deletion of existing drivers followed by installation of recommended drivers has fixed the issue unless I hear otherwise.

Note that due to our deferred renderer working mostly in off-screen buffers, forcing MSAA in any driver control panels won’t actually work. Instead we use a different anti-aliasing algorithm which can be enabled through our video menu.

whats the difference between ticking the AA box in-game and using seta r_useAntiAliasing 16?

So no SSAA via Control Panel? Can I activate AF in the Control Panel?
