By popular request, I’ve removed a slew of posts from this thread that were off-topic or not constructive. If you wish to discuss your general opinions and experiences with the game, please use the General Discussion forum.

I acknowledge some of you are very frustrated but please understand that this forum needs to remain focused on specific issues so we are able to work most efficiently to investigate them. Please bear with us; we are working very hard to investigate this issue.

Are you in contact with NVidia concerning the driver?

Just for my private interrest…

Hi peeps i do hope you guys get this fixed asap but i finaly gave up and got a full refund.

In my opinion the game was released far too early and had far too many bugs eg the OpenGL error.

Be it SD/Bethesda problems or nvidia i wil be steering clear of such releases until atleast a month after release from now on.

GL all and have fun when it finally gets patched properly.

(Samzon18) #524

This still hasn’t been fixed? I keep thinking theres something wrong my PC. I hope not :\

I heard people still have the problem, I haven’t played brink for a while because of the error.
I will play again when the error is 100% fixed.

i hope this patch works as I already read on the Steam forum that someone reported an OpenGL crash (without precising if it’s the same type of crash though) 10 mn after installing the patch.

(Crispy) #530

Yes this patch should resolve the issue for most if not all users.

(jfunk) #531

Well I was able to put my GPU overclock back up to 800mhz and made it through two consecutive maps in about 30 minutes without a crash. Wasn’t able to go nearly that long at that clockspeed before.

I was able to play as long as 7 hours one time with my GPU down at 720mhz though. That’s all the time I have to test now, but I’ll definitely try some more this weekend.

Now if we could just get the VOIP volume cranked up without having to use config files (and more servers would turn on team VOIP instead of requiring Fireteams), we might be able to get some good pickup games going!

I cannot wait to find out if this fix worked. Eff you work day. This is the longest Friday ever.

(jfunk) #533

lol…I actually randomly took a vacation day today because I have some I have to use up. Played Witcher 2 all day though. Now the wife if home and it’s time to head to happy hour, wish the patch had come out this morning. :stuck_out_tongue:

(mR.Waffles) #534

I hear ya. My fiance will be gone on vacation with the family all next week and Monday is a federal holiday. Witcher 2 all day sir.

Still having the issue with win7 64bit, GTX460 270.61

(Arthur Hucksake) #536

Not sure if it’s better or not. The game just bombed out to the desktop, without a crash and absolutely nothing in event viewer.

How strange.

(ReturnOfSanta) #537

Crispy, do you advise using the current drivers or the newer Beta ones?

(system) #538

Nvidia offers full support for OpenGL 4.1 since drivers 259.31 (mid 2010) for GeForce “Fermi” Cards.

(Nail) #539

afaik, they’re only enabled on Quadros

(farnsworth) #540

Seems stable for me now, played for 3h straight without the openGL error on 1920x1200 with max detail, Driver 266.58.

Before the patch I barely got through one map with these settings.

Not sure if it’s better or not. The game just bombed out to the desktop, without a crash and absolutely nothing in event viewer.

I think this is something different. Happened tonight when I played with 3 friends on a full public server, on mapchange the game suddenly crashed for all 3 of them (one with 460gtx, one with 285gtx and one with a 9800gt) and a bunch of other people on the server apparently, leaving me and 2 other guys on an almost empty server.
Maybe they screwed something up with the server patch or it was not updated yet, I don’t know.
