Also, if you got something called akamai netsession on your computer you might want to uninstall it as well.

It’s good that you notify people about this, but I don’t think Dirty Bomb comes with Akamai Netsession. Correct me if I am wrong, I don’t see anything regarding Akamai here and it might be that SD used it prior to the Open Beta/Steam Release. An other avid user of Akamai was League of Legends (as far as I know), but they ditched Akamai for their own updater thing.
You’re correct, Akamai has nothing to do with DB directly, but it is a ‘bandwidth bandit’ and related to the topic of this thread.
