To me it felt the review was kinda positive.
But SD now has to use the time in the open beta to get the point about the progressing system across.
Yes its free-to-play, but they want to you pay.
Test the game, even have a few hours of fun with it, then pay them in order to get more stuff to play around with it.
Its the same with the latest Battlefield 4, either you play several dozen hours to unlock the **** you want, or you buy a weapon pack.
Well, the paying system was failed. i can separate the money/credit system from a game, but most reviewers seem not to.
this is sad.
funny how he seemed to have AMAZING fun, laughing n being all excitable; without any single negative comment, and yet 5/10
“they’re ripping off TF2”
Splash Damage, how dare you rip off TF2! Give them their unique and totally their own that they came up with idea back!
Pay to progress so it gets a low score? You don’t need to pay to progress… soo yeah. And you’re not even really progressing since things are sidegrades not upgrades. That is what I don’t think he understood.
If I understand you correctly, you dont understand why he does it this way.
Warning: Mini-wall of text:
If I may try to explain: Its not unknown why he (and many others) does it this way.
Doing it this way gives more views (X min complaining is much less watchable for ages #-#, than X min of fun moments).
Documenting his experience in full detail is a bigger job, in invested hours, and can give much less results in views, for his target audience.
Other target audiences (older people), may like other type of direction of videos, but he will do what works for him.
So Im not defending his videodirection.
Its just statistics, that most people online/youtube are younger, and views will get increased a lot when doing videos in a more happy way.
Also, he needs to do X videos per week and he might not know if this video is worth the time to do detailed stuff on, or if he even wants to. He might just be doing off the hip and casual.
End-warning.
Its still of value as feedback to me, that while he had fun times, at the same time didnt like it much, which is seen in the score 5/10.
Maybe he got bored quickly, who knows. Maybe it wasnt his kind of game overall.
I get all that. Still, I didn’t hear a single complaint about the game or gameplay, except that ‘rhino and bushwhacker are OP’.
Since the series is called “Pay to win?” I’d assume the 5/10 score is a reflection of how “pay to win” he feels the game is. However, I didn’t watch the whole video yet so I could be wrong there.
Yeah, what Amerika_KC said. I don’t think the 5/10 rating was for the game, but how P2W the game is.
I even have a lower opinion of it now. A scale for “p2w or not”, as it seems, is just non-sense. Plus, he still gave almost zero reasoning as to why it received the score it did nor whether that is even a good score or not.
Also, seriously this guy seems to be aiming at the 6-12 year old audience age.
