I still am not a fan of hiding levels. It’s just a placebo which tries to help the balance issue.
If they manage to make a good balance system, level won’t be that important anyways.
Which is exactly why they are developing the new queuing system. Instead of trying to balance only the players that are on the same server via their MMR the queue system will balance players by their MMR against the entire pool of queuing players. So if you’re a mediocre player you’ll get mostly queued against other mediocre player. If you’re really good you will mostly get queued with other really good players etc. etc. If you queue with friends it will try to queue you against people with the same total MMR as a team.
They are removing levels entirely because they provide nothing more than poison, excuses and sometimes actual rage for everyone involved. And then you get guys who truly believe that level = skill even though that makes virtually no sense whatsoever and isn’t applicable to anything in human history when it comes to mechanical skill. Normally I wouldn’t link another games video but this is 100% relevant to DB in that it’s the exact same problem.
I wish DB showed a players private MMR and easily see player stats like that other game I linked.
