Remove Phantom

To be honest I think Phantom severely limits the game design for Dirty Bomb. Since he’s characterized as the cloaking character, nobody else can use cloaking gimmicks.

I think that if he’s removed, it would allow new classes and new abilities that could make the game better off.

For example, if his cloak is removed, and several people have cloaking technology as a passive (like staying 5m or closer to a deployable within 5 seconds) it would make it possible to combine an offensive ability with a defensive passive.

Of course, that can’t happen when Phantom is still around because the passive would be treading on his ground.

Problem 1: There would be too much nerd-rage.
Problem 2: He’s a major part of the marketing for the game.
Problem 3: People have put a lot of money into getting good cards for him.
Problem 4: There isn’t going to be nearly enough push for this.

Or they could rework him without the EMP ability and we can get a new EMP merc in the faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar future.

The scrubs trailer isn’t canon anyway (look at new turtle’s shield design).

So who knows? He may be converted into “anti engineer” merc after all.

Instead of adding more mercs, rework the already existing ones.

I mean, look at TF2 and it’s amount of useless weapons. And yet people demand more new ones, instead of fixing the already existing ones.

Quality over quantity.

I don’t want more invisibility in this game. Phantom can be the first and the last as far as I care. He can keep that weird niche.

I’d rather have Fletcher get invisibility over Objective Specialist. I did mean to say that the more offensive abilities on engineers should be complemented by defensive perks instead of Objective Specialist, and having invisibility locked to Phantom really limits my options here.
