Reload while sprinting conflict

Hi,

I’m a new player still learning the game and I have a doubt with the following:

  1. Don’t they mean the same thing? If yes then why is a perk/augmentation needed when you can just set it in Settings.

  2. If they are different, then doesn’t the setting conflict with the perk when ON?

Sprint cancels reload means you can interrupt your reload if you suddenly need to move fast.

Reload while sprinting means while you are running you can reload

By default you are unable to reload and sprint at the same time. If you have Sprint cancels reloading turned on then you are UNABLE to sprint until you finish the reloading.

I haven’t even tested them both at the same time, but I believe that the hard setting of Sprint Cancels reload would negate the reload while sprinting and you would need to start reloading again after you start moving. Can anybody test this or does anybody already know the answer?

Generally speaking it is always a good idea to have sprint cancels reload enabled IMHO, as not all mercs get access to that augment.

I have a Proxy card with double time and I have set sprinting to cancel my reload. Apparently, Splash Damage have thought everything out
Here’s why:
Using the smg

  • If you are sprinting and you press reload, you will reload while sprinting.
  • If you are reloading(while stationary or walking) and you press sprint, double-time will not interfere. Your reloading animation will be stopped, allowing you to shorten your reload times.

Using the shotgun

  • If you are sprinting and you press reload, you will reload while sprinting.
  • If you are reloading(while stationary or walking) and you press sprint, your reloading animation will be stopped but your actual reloading WILL NOT stop. You will see yourself sprinting normally and bullets will magically load into the shotgun(that’s a bug, obviously).

As you can see, the only way to stop the shotgun from reloading, is to shoot. I’m happy they did that because you don’t reload faster if you cancel the shotgun animation anyways.

Awesome! Thanks for testing this!

and to 1) Its a priority thing if the option is activated “Sprint > Reload” if not “Reload > Sprint” so u wont SPRINT and RELOAD but SPRINT or RELOAD the perk itself allows you to sprint AND reload at the same time.
