Reliable Weapon Stats?

(Gearbox) #1

Ok, so I was trying to figure out how to compare weapons and came across some serious problems.

  1. There is no in game comparison tool available. I have to guess about whether weapons deal more damage or are more accurate based on strange graphs.

Oooookaaaay… hey, wait, the Brink Wiki has all the graphs converted into numbers for all 24 weapons! Sweet!

Huh, they also have stats from the Official Guide posted… this doesn’t make sense!

  1. The official Guide lists “delay between bursts” on the EZ-Nade, Tokmak and Galactic … weapons without burst-fire.

  2. The in game graph bars show the Rokstedi as having the lowest damage of any assault rifle. Lower than even the SMGs and barely more than the rapid fire pistols! But this seems completely incorrect

And then we find that (according to the graphs) the Euston has the highest damage, rate of fire, stability, and reload speed of any Assault Rifles. It also has the 2nd highest equip speed, accuracy and ammo capacity of any AR. And all ARs have the same range.

So where do I find reliable weapon stats? I can’t trust the official guide, due to the documentation of features that don’t exist, and I can’t trust the in game graphs, since it doesn’t match up with in game experience.

Does anyone have useful, accurate data? Do we need to crack into the game code to find out exactly how damage works and what properties each gun has?

Help? Anyone? I want to field the best possible weapons, and the stats presented recommend I play a Medium build with 2 SMGs.

Check this out: http://denkirson.xanga.com/738334226/brink/.
Hopefully this data is right

Thank you for finding this! Since the data comes direct from the game debug tool, it’s extremely reliable and exactly what I was looking for!

Enjoy the game!

this is exactly what happened with bfbc2. unreliable stats. someone digs into code and makes accurate chart. i view image and save to desktop.

And also this game like BFBC2 it doesnt matter at all for the most part what guns you use, its all personal preferance. Just also wish like BFBC2 they had individual weapon achievements or leaderboards so i have a good reason to try and use everything to a certain point.

denkirson had some great weapon charts for BFBC2, so I guess his BRINK chart is pretty accurate too.
